Well, many actual Jewish faculty and staff vehemently disagree and we wrote this letter:

“Herr Celikates, was heißt nochmal Gottesebenbildlichkeit auf Englisch?”, oder er eine Referenz der amerikanischen Studis nicht einordnen konnte: „Wer ist denn dieser Michael Jordan?“. Das war etwas stressig, aber auch irgendwie toll und zeigte im Kleinen, wie er um Verständigung rang.

Habermas for me was a definitive thinker on what makes democracies resilient as social organizations. He had his faults, but also what made him brilliant, his scholarship generated even brilliant responses (Nancy Fraser and Michael Warner come to mind).
