I defended my PhD on Experiencing and Responding to Islamophobia in Belgium 👩🎓✨
My main findings?
➡️Islamophobia is systemic
➡️Muslims experience Islamophobia in a multitude of ways, and respond with resilience.
➡️Media portrayal matters.
And most importantly, there is work that needs to be done! ✨

Our paper on how Flemish public (VRT) & commercial (VTM ) TV news report on discrimination is published in 'journalism and media'! From racial discrimination to LGBTQ+ issues and activism, we dive into 252 broadcasts from 2017-2021. 📺✨
