I go in blind quite often. I’m part of a movie club that watches a couple movies every week to discuss and we rotate who chooses the movies each week. At least a quarter of the time I go in knowing nothing, and it’s always an amazing experience.
I don't think we talk enough about the effect of art on us. I can see one drawing I really really like and I'll be happy for the rest of the day I'm not exaggerating. Your art makes someone feel that way. Your art makes someone happy. Your art helps someone get through the day.
Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal
It is a long and beautiful tradition, dating back to ancient times when the Greeks debated and philosophized over the size of their gods’ pricks. A cornerstone of civilization, really.

@jonathanhliu.bsky.social is always a highlight of Gamestorm. His excitement and friendliness is contagious! I didn’t get to play with him this time since time was limited (😢), but look at how adorable the Gaming with Geekdad “menu” is! Every year the Geekdad section grows more impressive.
I got to spend a day at Gamestorm last weekend and it genuinely was the best day I’ve had in a very long time. I have been away from board games too long! It’s amazing how energized I am after playing games with awesome people.
