A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.
In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."
Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

I think articles should have a CAPTCHA that's a quiz about the contents and if you get it wrong you can't comment.

I go in blind quite often. I’m part of a movie club that watches a couple movies every week to discuss and we rotate who chooses the movies each week. At least a quarter of the time I go in knowing nothing, and it’s always an amazing experience.

I don't think we talk enough about the effect of art on us. I can see one drawing I really really like and I'll be happy for the rest of the day I'm not exaggerating. Your art makes someone feel that way. Your art makes someone happy. Your art helps someone get through the day.

Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal

It is a long and beautiful tradition, dating back to ancient times when the Greeks debated and philosophized over the size of their gods’ pricks. A cornerstone of civilization, really.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined Leder Games as Executive Director. In this newly created role, I'll be overseeing both the Creative and Operations teams and working closely with Patrick to build on the vision and strategy that have made the company what it is today.
This position draws on my 20-year history of leading successful teams in creative spaces. I’m honored to have the opportunity to put my experience to work alongside such a talented team.
Leder Games has an amazing history and a bright future. We're working on some incredible games right now, and I know I speak for everyone here when I say we can't wait to show them off...which may be sooner than you think!
On today of all days, I couldn't be more excited to share this news.

I was never a "Dynasty" fan, but had I known Carrington Manor was a death trap I would've probably watched this show.

Had a really great time at GameStorm this weekend teaching so many games!

(Hey @fanfactories.bsky.social your son is an absolute delight and it was such a pleasure to get to play with him as well. He obviously takes after you, even if you don’t share the same taste in games!)

I had been cooped up for months with a complex humerus fracture and wasn’t planning on going until @fanfactories.bsky.social messaged me asking if I’d be there. I am so grateful to Joseph for reaching out, and for spending the day with me! He is an incredible person and designer.

@jonathanhliu.bsky.social is always a highlight of Gamestorm. His excitement and friendliness is contagious! I didn’t get to play with him this time since time was limited (😢), but look at how adorable the Gaming with Geekdad “menu” is! Every year the Geekdad section grows more impressive.

I got to spend a day at Gamestorm last weekend and it genuinely was the best day I’ve had in a very long time. I have been away from board games too long! It’s amazing how energized I am after playing games with awesome people.

When I see you next I’ll kinda miss standing around waiting for you to get into the car and flip the switch so you can finally unlock my door and let me in (least gentlemanly car ever). We’ve had a lot of adventures in that car, she’s a sturdy girl and has served you well.

So bummed about this. Nobody else quite does what Print and Play does for board game designers/publishers.

A riff on Harsh Goenka's dumb Strait Of Hormuz post, but with Ticket To Ride iconography.

GRAVITY IS FREE: the games of René Soriano
YouTube video by Hollandspiele
This incredible video by @amabel.bsky.social has only been watched 5000 times which is a shame!
Not only is it a wonderful look into the game/toy industry that Amabel did a lot of research for, @nopunincluded.com also did a voice over that made me laugh very loudly.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.
