I’m not on the asexuality spectrum. But as a queer, feminist researcher, I think we should all care about asexuality.
Why? Because asexual perspectives can help us better understand sexuality—and gender, race, disability, family, love, etc.
Here’s why:

These and so so many other grants terminated. So much knowledge blocked. Many jobs eliminated instantly. I’m angry and sad. Sending love and solidarity to colleagues and strangers across the country grappling with nonsense actions of this regime.

Abbot Directs Texas To Consider Investigating Teachers Who Support Trans Kids For Child Abuse
Texas lawmakers want educators who allegedly used a child’s name and pronouns to be investigated by law enforcement.
1. Greg Abbott will direct the state of Texas to consider whether teachers who affirm transgender kids are actually engaging in "child abuse."
He's already attempted to go after parents of trans kids with charges of child abuse before.

I've been able to brush off most of the erasure of trans people from government websites, but this one is REALLY getting under my skin. It's just complete revisionist history.

Direct Economic Contributions
NIH directly supports the economy through investments in research institutions and job formation.
Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings.
But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.

Photo of the naughty but beautiful cat who committed the crimes.
Today in a college Zoom meeting attended by 95 of my colleagues, my cat jumped onto my laptop and unmuted me, then jumped onto a small collection of potted plants, shattering them, and I groaned/yelped while OFF MUTE.
So let’s add that to my list of current work stressors.

I consider what can be saved for questions (details on specific measures, secondary theory driving the study, non-significant results). I attempt to visualize all results so they can be communicated much faster than text or tables. No more than 3 bullets per slide.
