One more bonus for you with my Universal Studios Hollywood plan: over at my portfolio website, I have an image slider where you can compare the before and after for the park! It's all the way at the bottom of the page.

Thank you! I'd love to visit the park again one day once it has grown some more. Hopefully what they really do is even better than this. Planning on more expansion plans coming through the rest of this year.
Thanks. I just didn't think it makes sense to have 2 kuka dark rides next to each other. In this hypothetical plan, I imagine there could be equally high quality ride with a different ride system to get some variety in this area.
I hope you've enjoyed reading about my concept for a expanded Universal Studios Hollywood. I had a great time at the park when I visited earlier this year and I think a couple expansions could make it an incredible top tier park. Excited to see how the park actually grows in the coming years.

There are multiple new and revised scenes on the tour to take guests through every step of production, starting with a new Scene 1 where a movie shoot magically comes to life in an empty soundstage. Other scenes take guests into a Hot Set and to a movie premiere for the finale.
STUDIO TOUR
The Studio Tour is relocated to the rear of the Lower Lot to place the tram tour right in the action of production. The queue building contains museum scenes of the history of the studio and the tram tour. Guests load onto the current trams and then head out for the experience.
It is lined with retail, a Cafe 80s quick service restaurant, and fun futuristic interactive elements. Inside the courthouse straight ahead is the main attraction, an indoor coaster where Doc recruits us to go recover some lost artifacts from some of his stops in the past.
HILL VALLEY 2055
The last land of the park is Hill Valley of 2055. This expansion replaces most of the stages in the Lower Lot area behind Transformers. The land recreates a futuristic version of the town square and provides a unique sci-fi themed environment to the park.
FAR FAR AWAY
This Shrek themed land adds another family focused land to the park. The land features a Shrek swamp meet and greet and a small Duloc town square area with a covered teacups style flat ride and a classic dark ride where the story of Shrek is retold by the Magic Mirror.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
This builds upon the existing land with an expansion that takes over the current Transformers building. This new area is themed to Pokémon and includes a carousel with rideable Pokémon, retail, and a rethemed Transformers dark ride where guests jump into a Pokémon adventure.
JURASSIC WORLD: ISLA SORNA
The existing Jurassic themed area is expanded. There are no new attractions, but the areas around Jurassic World: The Ride are redeveloped. New themed buildings define a plaza in front of the splashdown pool and hold retail and a new indoor Velociraptor meet and greet.
This is a plaza space that guests enter into first which has 4 branching paths into 4 distinct filming "backlots", which are completely immersive as if guests have stepped right into the movies. At the back of the plaza is a new entrance to the Studio Tour.
LOWER LOT
The remaining areas of the park are all down at the Lower Lot. One big change is the demo of Mummy and the reconstruction of the last set of escalators in a rotated position so that the escalators drop off at a more central neutral area of the Lower Lot instead of right into JW.
My Universal Studios Hollywood blue sky expansion concept reaches the last area of the park today, the Lower Lot.
Tomorrow we wrap up the park with the new lands and attractions on the Lower Lot, as well as changes to the Studio Tour. Thanks for following along if you see this!
Through the entrance tunnel, guests step into the courtyard of the Emerald City. Straight ahead is the entrance to the Wizard's Palace. The land includes dining, a covered balloon spinner ride, and a family friendly boat dark ride across the fantastical world of OZ, featuring music from the show.
WICKED: EMERALD CITY
Exiting out of Dark Universe, guests cross a plaza space with a view over the lot and then face the gateway to the Emerald City. Still questionable if Wicked has the longevity to be a theme park land, but the Emerald City looks perfect for one to me so I went for it.
The rest of the village holds retail, a quick service pub, and a year round walk through haunted maze through the abandoned tunnels under the village. This is meant to be a flexible space that is used as both a daily attraction and as a HHN house with extra performers.
But this version of the land is dominated by Dracula. Sitting at the edge of the town square is the Count's grand palace and inside he has gathered a collection of his most fearsome monster contemporaries to hunt us. This is a Transformers style dark ride with the focus on AAs instead of screens.
DARK UNIVERSE
I think it is essential to celebrate Universal Monsters in the studio where they were born. This is not a copy of the Epic Universe land, but instead like a parallel location in the story. There is a crumbling village, wandering Monsters, and a main attraction that drives the story.
I see a lot of people speculate that the Falls Lake area on the east of the property could be park expansion as well. Maybe so, but I didn't use it because it is far from the main park, hard to get to, and I liked maintaining a cool production location. So I expanded elsewhere.
The other area of expansion is on the Lower Lot and replaces some of the older soundstages with park space. This is heavily rumored already and Universal has been building new stages on the east side of the property to replace this studio filming capacity.
The first new area is The East Lot. This area replaces the studio tour queue, loading, maintenance building, and some back stage space near CityWalk. It also requires some regrading to the hill above Prop Plaza/Hollywood Terrace to add some buildable space. The bridge and escalators remain.
PARK EXTENTS EXPANSION
In this blue sky expansion, I have taken the opportunity to expand the footprint of the theme park by pushing into the studio areas in two specific locations. I think these expansion areas are fairly in line with what could actually happen one day.
My expansion concept for Universal Studios Hollywood continues today with new lands in a new area of the park! But first, quick thoughts about park footprint expansions.
My Universal Studios Hollywood blue sky concept plan continues today with the lands of the Upper Lot! Here's a labeled plan, read on below for more info.
Tomorrow, we will continue with posts about the strategy for expanding the footprint of the park and then walk through the new lands in the areas outside the Upper Lot.
