I haven't drawn anything NSFW in a while for some reason, so here is a silly little Masc!Vaespar nude I drew for fun and to make up for it. #nsfw

Or, tl;dr, the weird fetish shit in my head I jack off to spawned one of my most prominent OCs. Who'da thunk.

But yeah, Vaespar is a character that has existed in my head for years upon years in various forms for incredibly kinky reasons and took a bit to get a solid identity beyond that.

That's the fun of Vaespar - he/she allows me to be a little "problematic" in a safe way. It's weird that this horrible kinky evil sorcerer that eats people is one of my biggest comfort characters but that's how it goes I guess.

And while the modern version of the character is mostly SFW in terms of how he/she and his/her antics are framed that kinky undercurrent very much remains and I still use Vaespar for NSFW shit and he/she is still the star of most of my kinky fantasies.

From there the Vaespar lore exploded. He/she was a very fun character to work with and quickly became one of my favorite OCs. Various other characters from the fantasies she/he originated from spun off into OCs too.

After a few drafts Vaespar got an official, solidified design shortly after, and later a female version because that's when my gender identity was opening up and he/she is still ultimately an avatar, an extension of myself - it's why I consider him/her a sona.

So I ran a poll to determine his name finally and the winner was Vaespar and that stuck.

At some point in this I started developing my Midnightverse project. And some time in the early stages of that I realized this avatar, if I could reframe the kinky aspects, would make a great antagonist.

But then things changed.

A couple involved early versions of the avatar (one of which evolved into its own character, Amonduul) and another involved Robert Pattinson of all people because even though I hated Twilight I still had a crush on him.

But the thing is the avatar never had a consistent name or consistent identity. They were mostly never intended to leave my head - my early attempts at putting my vorny ideas on paper I always grew incredibly ashamed of and redacted.

They also had a whole array of victims, sometimes lookalikes of characters from pop culture, other times original creations, sometimes a mix of both. And while the narrative tying all this together was ever-changing some of the core keystones of it were starting to take shape.

Now, the avatar tended to be pretty human-looking and that made swallowing people whole difficult. So I took cues from The Blob and the sixth Pokemon movie and had them be able to transform into a mass of shadow goo or a giant monster to consume prey.

So after a point the avatar started eating people.
