Anybody else feel this way? Whenever I see a band, event, comedian, scooter rally, op-ed or ANYTHING using an AI generated cartoon for their advertisement I immediately want nothing to do with them. 1/2

Honestly the Apple AirPods Pro have such good noise cancelling that I haven't looked much farther. They're somewhat comfortable and I think you can get silicone covers to make more comfy? Big over-ear Bose do NOTHING to block out human voices, just steady machine noise etc.

Aww! Thank you! It was weirdly successful in that it delighted so many people. And lead to so many internet arguments about whether or not it was photoshopped. ๐Ÿ˜‚

At the 15 year anniversary of my Desaturated Santa costume for Santacon, a friend of mine saw someone doing the costume again! In Colorado. Cool! It lives on! Best art project I ever did, I think.

Are you using ceramic inks or underglaze and the silkscreen medium? Your level of detail is incredible. Wow. These are all fantastic! I keep trying this sort of thing and failing miserably.

I finally badgered my doctor into it, at age 42 and 3/4.

I used to bench press my cat for funsies but I think that cat could bench ME.

I used to just balance my laptop on the cat and get on with it.

Aren't those window mount bird feeders fantastic? I bought my husband one for his home office, aka "providing enrichment for his enclosure".

I thrifted a cashmere turtleneck dress a while back. It's pretty great! Maybe you can justify buying one of those.

I'm gonna guess the "pleasure to have in class" and "oops it's neurodivergence" venn diagram is pretty much a circle.

When I first heard the "failure pile in a sadness bowl" bit on a CD a friend sent me, I was laugh-crying too hard to drive and had to pull over.

Makes absolute sense. My husband and I end up even more foul-mouthed than usual every time we do a re-watch.

I'm not sure they exist, but I'd like them to. We have older-style wall-inset toilet paper holders in our 1946 house and the girthy MEGA ROLLS do not fit.

Finch helps me a lot with routines and self-care generally. Aside from that I use the native iPhone reminders a LOT.

Remembering the time I took a gorgeous tartan wool jacket I inherited from my grandpa into the still-existing store in San Francisco where he bought it probably 50 years ago. I told the young salesguy about it and he said "Let me get my grandpa, he probably sold it to him."

Yep. Looking at the laundry list of personal data the app wanted to request made me never install it.

I've literally ordered everything on my shopping list on Amazon while in the aisle at Target waiting for an employee to come fetch me something out of a locked cabinet. Ended up leaving empty-handed but with shopping complete.

I read the phrase "comic strippers" and it took me a good 30 seconds to realize they meant people who draw panel cartoons.

It does seem to be getting worse! And has this weird puritan streak also where it will just refuse to correct words you shouldn't say in front of your 90 year old grandmother.

A cell phone photo of an overexposed moon looking like a white ball, partially covered by spooky late fall clouds in high contrast.

Someday there will exist a phone that can take good photos of the moon. Until then...fuck it, we ball.

It's not hugely different from gatekeeping I've experienced as a woman in other hobbies- this one just feels more explicit and thorough in its sexism/racism/tribalism.

It's also a thing where women try and join the community and are immediately turned off by the misogyny and actively discriminated against. It's not welcoming, it's immature and it's basically one big sexist 4chan intrusive thought made manifest. Why would any smart woman spend time there?
