LA LA LAND, FIRST MAN, BABYLON, NO TIME TO DIE, SALTBURN to name a few.
I haven’t checked in on here in a while but I’m doing okay.
The new SUPERMAN poster was beautiful. Still can’t see it being better than a 7/10 though.
Glad to hear Greig Fraser is back for THE BATMAN: PART II & that Linus Sandgren will replace him for DUNE: MESSIAH.
I guess that’s all for now.
The GG noms were just a mess overall.
I didn’t think it was that bad! If anything, I’m rooting more for Zoe Saldana who I thought really carried the film. I thought she was great.
Rooting for ANORA, THE BRUTALIST, CONCLAVE, DUNE: PART TWO, EMILIA PÉREZ, NOSFERATU, THE SUBSTANCE, & THE WILD ROBOT all awards season long this year.
Kind of went down a rabbit hole watching old episodes of MTV’s ARE YOU THE ONE? A show I had forgotten I was completely obsessed with.
I kind of miss this era. The drinking & the partying & the hook up & nightlife culture. Do people even still go out nowadays? It’s just so different now…
These so called “Oscar pundits” who post their Top Ten Best Films of the Year or whatever they choose to call it in the month of December are ridiculous. How can anyone choose to engage with art this way?
While the rest of us normal folks all have to wait or catch up. It just reeks of elitism.
Thanksgiving didn’t hit this year like it usually does but Happy December 1st y’all. Hopefully, it’s a better month. I’m ready for the holiday season & all the Christmas vibes.
Your annual reminder that Denis Villeneuve’s PRISONERS is absolutely a Thanksgiving film. Don’t let the dark nature fool you.
It’s impeccably cozy, top tier Denis Villeneuve & Roger Deakins work, Hugh Jackman’s career best performance, a crime thriller masterpiece.
I’m going to attempt to finish up some Christmas shopping tonight because I just don’t want to deal with any more shopping come December.
Also, have a sudden urge to rewatch THE WIZARD OF OZ & GLADIATOR so that’s on my list of things to do for the day.
Kendrick Lamar is probably the greatest rapper alive right now. He has completely resurrected the hip-hop & rap genres & he still performs like a hungry artist. Incredible album drop tonight.
I need to find the time to see it but I’ve just been so busy on the weekends lately. Hopefully when I have some downtime. 🙏🏼
Maybe it’s because the holidays are right around the corner but I am still constantly thinking about what an absolute masterpiece LA LA LAND actually is lately.
Such a beautiful yet truly depressing film for all the dreamers & artists out there that may never make it in showbiz.
Christopher Nolan is just the greatest.
Me on Thanksgiving when everyone’s yelling about politics.
If I follow you on here & you don’t follow back within a couple days, then I’m unfollowing. I am not your fan tf.
Hi Bluesky fam. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day today. 🦋
Thank you! 🫶🏼
Looking at the next few weekends from now through the month of December & how busy & overwhelming it’s going to get…
I just have to push through it all & stay positive, even with the lack of Christmas spirit in the air.
Hope everything is well with all of you.
Sunday nights feel so empty without THE PENGUIN.
I want to see the INTERSTELLAR IMAX re-release for the film’s tenth anniversary so bad next month but I just don’t think I will be able to.
Why does everything always have to be in LA…
I thought it was underwhelming.
No.
2024 has been a pretty terrible year for films. Like … one of the absolute worst years in cinema & I know for a fact I’m not the only one.
Some films I did like though: DUNE: PART TWO, THE WILD ROBOT, FURIOSA, FEMME, TRAP, I SAW THE TV GLOW, THE SUBSTANCE, CIVIL WAR, & CHALLENGERS.
I really just want & need to see ANORA, BABYGIRL, THE BRUTALIST, & NOSFERATU this year & I’m pretty much done.
I’m sorry, folks. But I just can’t for the life of me watch films that I’m not even remotely interested in anymore.
Mikey Madison better be revolutionary in ANORA with the way everyone on Film Twitter has been hyping her up to be all year long.
But then again, it is Sean Baker. He really knows how to get incredible performances from his actors.
These low quality gif’s. Smh.
