I say this as a working print journalist, a current school board member, and a parent of three school age children.
Republicans care more about the rights of guns than our children.
Why do we let them get away with it?

The framing on this is obscene.
One party is trying to pass common sense gun safety measures (restrictions to high capacity weapons, etc.).
One party is refusing to engage in common sense gun safety measures and instead wants to cover schools in ballistic glass (which they also won’t fund).
In the first quarter, the Wolves looked like they were going to be able to handle the Nuggets, and advance to the next round.
In the third quarter, the Wolves have gotten handled by the Nuggets, and look like they will advance to Cancun during the next round.
I hate it here.
I don’t know how you are supposed to play defense if that is how the rule is applied.
The rule is to stop defenders from closing out and putting their feet under a shooter. Murray jumped into McDaniels.
Jamal Murray jumped into Jaden McDaniels. That shouldn’t even be a common foul. Murray reached his legs out of his silo. Ridiculous.
My kids and I have watched this so many times laugh-crying that I think we made the dog concerned about what was going on.
A dogo argentino puppy who is about 1.5 years old lays down in a crate on top of a foam dog bed.
After a year and half, my dog would like to update her Official Thunderstorm Rankings from “generally whatever” to “incredibly terrifying.”
Commissioning a costly, vast and generally aimless street photos project all so I can eventually call someone to task with, “… Sue Ellen looks great. Bobby… well done. WAIT. Ok WHO SHOT JR???”
Everyone groans and starts yelling at me
A very large man named Ed Mylett went on a podcast and said he fits three days into one day, and has “changed and manipulated time.” This is a screen cap of him saying this.
When I finish the three-mile dog walk five minutes before a thunderstorm comes
“again… AGAIN” just kills me every time, at least once a month, every month, going on several years now.

Pastor, are you wearing a hat from St. Cloud State in Minnesota?!
@howardsinker.bsky.social this thread is relevant to your interests!
Oof.
Why not:
-forge a future
-leave a legacy (although I think leave is the problem, so I don’t love that either)
-lead a legacy
-launch a legacy
etc etc.
Sounds like the branding team decided to leave for lunch.
Minnesota fans have been clamoring for like 15 years to move to the east.
We’re willing to latch on to any supporting reasons that support the move to the east, and completely ignore any logical facts that would keep the Wolves in the west.
It was horrific. An eighth-grader who got shot in the head testified and they ignored her.
It wasn’t a tie vote as much as it was blocked by Minnesota Republicans.
Let us call it out for what it is: Republicans refuse to protect our children. They care more for their guns than our kids.
(He has a FB post that I won’t link about it.)
How do you write this story without saying, explicitly, that the MNGOP refuses to take up common sense gun safety legislation?
Sen. Eric Lucero carries his gun on the Senate floor and at committee; he made fun of staff who didn’t want to sit behind him and have to look at the barrel!
I can’t imagine the strength of these Annunciation parents to keep going (and I wish I didn’t have to).
The fact that they share this tragedy and Republicans just completely ignore it.
The “latest news” graphic looks a lot like a certain far right “media” network that advertises with on-ice graphics during Minnesota Wild games, and at first glance I thought we lost Bob Seger to the cult. We didn’t!
“Is that Tactical Norm shouting the ‘LOVE’ and ‘BABY’ parts of ‘Granny?’ It is!”
However, inside, Knueppel was struggling with homesickness. All his life, he had done nearly everything with his four younger brothers and parents. Watching the Green Bay Packers on Sundays. Rebounding for each other after school. Eating breakfast together. He felt so isolated when his parents left him at Duke during his first week that he asked if he could FaceTime during the family breakfast. He missed his friends from back home, too, who mostly stayed in the area. "That was hard," Knueppel says, "being away from people that you care about." He was also being pushed to his limit physically. He was playing well - and his coaches even told him so. Still, Knueppel didn't agree. "I was being hard on myself," he says. The homesickness wouldn't subside, either, as the summer turned into fall. The official season would start soon. Chari was close to driving the family Ford Expedition to Durham, N.C., and temporarily moving there. "We were really worried," says Dildy, the Duke coach, "that Kon would go home before the year started and decide not to come back."
It is kind of odd for him to say he misses Durham since during his short time there, he was reportedly very homesick:

You know the St. Paul jacket is going platinum because every other city or even neighborhood is trying to find its own version.
It reminds me of when Guitar Hero originally hit and suddenly Best Buy had actual guitars on the shelves, trying to catch the next rising star.
I mean, the look is vintage Jesse “The Body” Ventura (except the boa shoulder pads are juuuust a bit muted?).
Ric Flair debuting the NWA/WCW “Big Gold Belt” world heavyweight championship belt.
She looks like she’s ready to run into the ring and hit Ric Flair over the head with a steel chair while the ref’s head is turned, so she can run out of the arena with the Big Gold Belt.

As a certified St. Paul Hater™️, I cannot overstate how incredible this coat is. It’s incredible. The haters (me) are aghast.
It recalls growing up when a kid said “East is the LEAST, and West is the BEST” during the Richfield Civil Wars of adolescence. East was NOT the least, but a bar’s a bar.
