I’ve become very taken by the music of EP-4 over the last year, so stoked to find out that Bowie knew Kaoru Sato from the band. I’m guessing this photo was taken ‘79-‘82. Anyone out there have any more info? I think Sato ran a club in Kyoto at that time?

"Sounds can have their own meaning" – Remembering Éliane Radigue | The Quietus Warren Hatter reflects on the life of an extraordinary, innovative artist, ignored for most of her life before being celebrated this century

I wrote a ‘Remember Them’ piece for @thequietus.com about the wonderful Éliane Radigue. I hope I’ve done her justice thequietus.com/news/remembe...

“Remember what I said…” Yeah. About that. It’s almost impressive how confidently wrong that prediction aged.

RIP jerry kasenetz. although he was kind of a scam artist, there are some real stompers hidden amidst his vast catalog.

It’s been a hell of a ride, chock full of special moments, incredible performances, wonderful staff, and a beautiful community. But for various reasons, we’ve reached a point where we can no longer sustain the bandwidth needed to keep the place going. While we feel the need to move on from that role, we would very much like to see the venue continue to thrive. We know this place has come to mean so much to so many bands, music lovers, neighbors, misfits, and oddballs. It is our ardent hope that there is someone special out there who would like to grab the reins and keep the dream alive. Are you interested in writing the next chapter of Turn by taking ownership of the venue? If so, drop us a line by emailing mark.turnpdx@gmail.com (serious inquiries only, please). We’ll be bowing out at the end of the year, so time is of the essence here - if you have some kind of business plan in mind, don’t hesitate to reach out and start exploring the options. We will help as fully as possible with any transition, and certainly there will be many in the T3 community who would lend a hand too. Seeing Turn boarded up would be heartbreaking for everyone, so we’re very much hoping to see its light continue to shine into the future. It’s been a great honor to keep the Turn flame burning, with help from all of you, and we’re excited to see who might grab the torch next! With gratitude and much love,Mark and Kate
