I’ve recently started journaling. Finding it useful for reflecting and processing. Have kept going for 3 weeks: a record for me!
Things that’ve helped: same time each day blocked in calendar; place to write journal ready to go; telling others I’m doing it to increase accountability.
Any other tips?

I’m sure @catherinebreslin.bsky.social would have some useful thoughts on this
Very much agree with 'ideally policy too'. In any event it's important to iterate policy if it's getting in the way of citizens achieving the intended outcomes.
Thank you for generously sharing these reflective prompts.
I'd add one which asks people to plan upfront how they are going to monitor the impact on different groups. AI can be unpredictable, so critical to build in checks to make sure it's having the expected impact.
Good idea
Thank you Frankie - especially for your encouragement on the day and since. It’s published, hurrah! Now for the next one to exercise that muscle….
An image of a post-it note which says ‘How to silence your inner critic enough to write publicly’
A few weeks ago I facilitated this session at #UKGovCamp. I've written a blog about it, to share tips on writing in the open. Thanks to all those who generously shared their experiences, and for encouraging me to get this published.

Think that sounds great. I think we have 3 people already (me, @chiefbreenie.bsky.social and @cocochan.bsky.social), would like a bit of gender and background balance so let me think / reach out and come back to you.
Brilliant (and me too TBH)! I'll liaise with @jacattell.bsky.social on his thinking and be in touch 😆
I'd be really happy to do this: it was a great discussion with lots of valuable ideas. I think it would be good to involve people who have managed to overcome their inner critic to write publicly (@cocochan.bsky.social?) and those who haven't yet. How many people are you thinking? I'll DM you
I'm so pleased you enjoyed it and found it valuable, I did too! @jacattell.bsky.social has suggested a @ukgovcamp.bsky.social podcast on the session. From memory you'd thought you might like to experiment with this form - might you be up for that?
Uplifted by #UKGovCamp today:
- Heartfelt tribute to Vicky Teinaki, whom I feel privileged to have briefly worked with @NHS
- First time volunteering as a campmaker
- Some great conversations which have given me fresh perspectives and ideas
- I pitched! (Thank you to my cheerleaders)
