Congratulations! You've won an all-expenses one-way trip to the wooded park by the university!

It might be harder to survive there than in my kitchen, but that's a you problem, not a me problem.

"States' rights" has always been code for "Rules for thee, but not for me."

Well, that's done. The new addition to my left ring finger is going to take a little getting used to. #justmarried

(For the record, I don't actually KNOW the Italian noblewoman. I'm not sure exactly what the connection is, but I think she's a friend of one of my fiance's friends.)

An Italian noblewoman talking to my retired Upper Midwestern factory worker father like he's the most interesting person she's ever met.

An Italian noblewoman talking to my retired Upper Midwestern factory worker father like he's the most interesting person she's ever met.

Last night at the banquet, I found myself sitting across the table from my retired factory worker father, wondering if he had any idea he was chatting with an Italian noblewoman.

I generally courtesy like any replies to my own posts, unless it's a troll. Then they get a courtesy block.

But, yeah, liking everything I interact with seems weird.

Wedding banquet last night. Today's the big day. I honestly thought lifelong bachelorhood was the right life for me, but here it is, about to come to an end.

A photo of me in a blue suit, the mayor of Acquasparta, Italy, and -- as of today, legally -- my WIFE Marika.

Well, the religious ceremony is still a few days away. But as of today, after this meeting with the mayor of #Acquasparta, Italy, I'm officially legally married.

During transit, the parcel traversed a micro-Einstein-Rosen relay loop (μ-ERL), inadvertently engaging a retro-causal transport conduit. This created a closed time-like curve within the localized Minkowski manifold, effectively routing the package through a reverse tachyonic burst.

The thing is, it's so easy to spot. I'll click on an interesting headline, read a paragraph or two, and I'm like "Oh, this is obviously AI" and close the link.

I guess they got what they wanted out of me, which was the click. They don't care if I read the whole thing. But still. What's the endgame?

Star Wars’ ‘Andor’ Season 2 Depicts the Banality of American Fascism The franchise’s Disney era has been defined by toothless politics, but “Andor” Season 2 is a vivid metaphor for America’s descent into authoritarianism.

The latest episodes of #Andor show how authoritarianism becomes ordinary — how people get crushed by systems pretending to keep order. We break it down in our article on the show as a metaphor for American fascism: www.wired.com/story/star-w...

I am heir to 2,400 year old living traditions of self-government and historical inquiry, which have weathered two millennia of setbacks and long nights.

They are heirs of a 10-minute old rebrand of a murderous 20th century ideology that failed almost immediately when tried.

So, yeah, contempt.

I already thought #Andor season 1 was the best #StarWars thing ever made. Yes, better than the original trilogy.

But season 2 is outdoing itself. It just keeps getting better and better.

I remember the first time I drove a car with a touchscreen-only console. I thought it was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen. TURNING A DAMN KNOB is so much better, easier, and safer. You don't even have to look. You can turn the knob entirely by feel, without taking your eyes off the road.

The hard part for me with this this stuff is just that they're so hard to express sympathy for. Whenever I see the words "male loneliness epidemic," for example, all I can think is "Stop whining, you pathetic piece of shit."

The Andor episodes of Philosophers in Space were two of the best episodes ever. So, @etvpod.bsky.social and @ursagets.excessively.gay, are more Andor episodes in the works?

There's a street near where I grew up called "Meine Strasse," which is German for "My Street." I always found that amusing.

Quite the compliment coming from one of my favorite accounts on this platform.

Thanks for all you do, Rick!

I once had a job in the public eye enough to be a bit of a local celebrity. There were a lot of things I loved about that job, but I didn't love that part. It's just weird. I'm not wired for being recognized at the grocery store.

So I moved 2,000+ miles away and became a nobody. It's much better.

We urge Congress to reject President Trump's incoming request to rescind funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting — which would endanger the news ecosystem.

From the article, it appears to be all border zones, which includes international airports, regardless of how close they are to the actual, geographical border.

I can't imagine how it might apply outside of border zones, but with Trump, who knows? "Assume the worst" seems a good rule of thumb.

Almost certainly yes. Which makes this the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've seen all month.
