Data proves Millennials are the worst fake generation During the ages 18-29, those born in the 1990s were less happy, had less sex, were less conservative, went to church less, were more likely to favor abortion rights, and opposed stereotypical gende…

People say "elder Millennials" because that fake "generation" more than any other has had ridiculously different life experiences depending on when they were born. It makes zero sense as a category, but people who believe in magic think generations must make sense.

You can still buy corded Apple headphones. I just did a few months ago, for the same reasons.

Microsoft and Google also donated to Trump's inauguration and also donated to Trump's ballroom, which doesn't help matters.

these are immensely self absorbed men who pine for nazi germany and apartheid south africa — stagnant, backwards regimes btw — because they imagine themselves the masters of the universe.

A tweet from Pope Leo XIV that reads: “When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.”

Apparently the Pope has read Baudrillard.

Is it just me or is Ossoff channeling Barack Obama here? The cadence, the rhetorical pauses, etc. He's got the style down pat.

I don't cut it that close, usually, but I will say that I get to the airport a little later than I once did ever since I got TSA PreCheck.

It's a too- big-to-fail strategy. Put so-called AI into everything and make people, institutions, etc. dependent on it. Then when AI tools fail, either operationally or financially, get a bailout. Socialize the risk, privatize the profit. It's a very old game.

The thing is, we're hearing this even from some supposedly progressive, e.g., Kathryn Paige Harden of _The Genetic Lottery_, which doesn't help. Hereditarianism never goes away, it just changes form.

I tend to agree. Teams tries to do too much, with none of what it does working very well.
