Made a list of essential albums to write a potential blog post (thanks @hl (https://social.lol/@hl for the suggestion!), but as soon as I did, I realized I didn't want to write about my past and the feelings these albums evoked. I'm finding myself wanting to write more about current or new to me al
I'm dealing with the age-old problem of wanting to blog but not knowing what to blog about. Why can’t I just think of ideas?
It wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t awake at 6am on a Saturday morning. My body clearly doesn’t know how to sleep in anymore. That’s ok, more time for coffee!
A hot pink Esterbrook Funky Town pen with its box in the background.
Traveled to Chicago this past week and one of my favorite parts was swinging by Atlas Stationers and buying myself a hot pink Esterbrook Funky Town pen. Love! #fountainpen
Channelling my inner @macpsych (https://social.lol/@macpsych and enjoying a glass of champagne in the airport lounge before my flight. Hey, why not?
It's 75F / 24C outside right now and the walk I just took felt like the best walk I've ever taken in my life.
Who woke up at 3:30am yesterday, spent 12 hours in the Baltimore airport wondering if her connecting flight to New England would get canceled while a blizzard hits the area, and finally got home at 11pm?
That's right, I did. And I'm so glad I got home and not stuck for a couple days while we get pu
Participated in #BandcampFriday for the first time ever today and bought 3 digital albums—Singin’ to an Empty Chair by Ratboys (ratboys.bandcamp.com/album/singin-to-an-empty... Move On With the Year by Alice Costelloe (alcostelloe.bandcamp.com/album/move-on-with-the-y... an
It's so fucking wild to me that companies REALLY want you to use AI, that they're really invested in you using it for who knows what reasons. Why the hell does it matter how you write your code?
The one positive about not having a full time job is not being forced to use AI. So, so glad about that.

Finally signed up for Crucial Tracks if anyone else is there! I'm trying to get back into listening to music more, and posting a new song that means something to me every day is a good way to do it. I'm at https://app.crucialtracks.org/profile/starshaped

Ordered some dry rub wings and ‘dry’ is the key word. Ordered some wet wings from the server to rectify this tragedy.
At a Buffalo Wild Wings at 7pm on a Friday night. It is just as intense as you think it would be.
A great way to tell that you need a break from Discord? Closing the app but then clicking the app in your dock reflexively without even knowing you're doing it.
For now, Discord has been removed from my dock. I’ll check it way less often now and open it only when I want to catch up on what's goin
We are in the worst timeline. Why the fuck did people here vote this man back in office? It is an embarrassment and awful for everyone in the world. So fucking awful.
Kicked off 2026 by going on a run and listening to the latest episode of the Friendship Material podcast with @cygnoir (https://social.lol/@cygnoir and @keenan (https://social.lol/@keenan Dip a sandwich!

Last day of using two planners before fully switching to my 2026 Hobonichi Weeks tomorrow. Nothing feels better than finishing one planner and starting a fresh new one. #hobonichi
A plant I bought a little over 6 years ago to celebrate getting the job I was laid off from in March is on its last legs and I’m so sad. I suppose it’s fitting, but it’s sad just the same.
Thank you!
Today I turned 45 and spent the day with my sister’s in-laws. I got cake and it was delightful. Oh yeah, and it was that other holiday too, but I like remembering my birthday first and foremost.
Spent this Christmas Eve / the day before my birthday getting my nails painted a glittery red, then treating myself to a sushi lunch. Now I’m home watching the snow fall and I’m feeling nice and cozy.
All right, I’ll bite. @FediTree (https://masto.es/@FediTree
How I can tell it's been a rough year: I haven't been posting either here or on my blog, and I haven't wanted to listen to music in months. I want to change these now so here I am, posting! May 2026 be way, way better.
Today I ran a 5k without stopping to walk for the first time in years and while I’m not fast by any stretch of the imagination, I’m still proud of myself. Those hills were no joke!
Also, this is a time where I wish I could edit posts in Bluesky as the url to the slides starts at slide #7. Just pretend it starts at slide #1!
Thanks to everyone who attended my talk, "What a Front of the Front End Developer Brings to Your Team”, at @nedcamp.bsky.social this past Saturday! You can find my slides and resource links at noti.st/starshaped/z.... #nedcamp #nedcamp2025
