I can see it! Reminds me of those afghans that people make that chart the weather.
Oh no! I guess you'll just have to come back and join me on a hunt ;)
I think this might be the latest in the season I've seen #northernlights here in #iceland. Having excellent weather now in Reykjavík.
Taken this morning in the city after midnight. Not the best photo, it was just a quick snap from my balcony; Twas not prepared for #aurora! #midnightsun is coming...
Hilarious 👏😅
People are saying they like the curls, but I didn't even know my hair could curl! I don't know how to deal with it.
Something a little different from my normal content, but if you remember I was quite sick about a year ago and my hair partially fell out. I buzzed it, and now it's growing back.
The problem is, I look in the mirror and see someone else: first Julius Caesar, and now Whittaker from S2 of The Pitt 🫣😭
About 23:55 last night. I posted this just an hour or so after I took it.
Yes, it's a poorly focused iPhone photo, but I'm so pleased nonetheless that I was able to capture the gorgeous setting crescent moon, Venus, and the late season aurora.
It was such a beautiful night.

He's such a happy little fella!
Happy #caturday to all who celebrate!
Gary is obsessed with this box. He has never cared for real boxes, and only occasionally uses the fancy cat beds I've bought him. But he's in this fruit box we swiped from Costco daily.
(Fun fact: did you know that 75% of #Iceland has a Costco membership?)
We do use drones to make quick-pass maps of lava field growth during eruptions here in Iceland. But there are no sampling drones, as far as I know. We still do the samples by hand :)
The last part sounds key to future tranquility!
The whole freakin' day yesterday! Crazy to have an app see that much downtime.
💚
Yeah, unfortunately we had like five straight weeks of snow from late February through March this year 😵💫
It's got pluses and minuses, like everywhere! But it really is a wonderland of nature, that's for sure. Makes it worthwhile for me :)
In three weeks, it will be too bright to see the northern lights. Season ends around mid-late April here as the midnight sun encroaches.
Grand-mère is the worst of the worst, I'm sure.
Welcome back online, #bluesky!
Probably the last big #northernlights night of the season here in #Iceland. G2 geomagnetic storm warning predicted to hit around 21:00-midnight GMT and persist through 6:00. That means North America might be lined up for a prime time show.

It was very scary, and I've booked therapy! What is this thing called real life 😅😉
Me, not being able to access Bluesky app all day due to some server issue:

Yup! It's a must.
Another harbinger of spring? My first time confusion moment of the season.
Looked up from book, thought, "oh, it's getting late, I should go to the gym now." I assume it's 19:30. Nope. It's past 21:00. It's still light out. Sun *just* set.
So it begins.
📸: one year ago, twilight #aurora hunting.
Love the porg, and when they arrive on our shores, I'll be sure to let you all know. They shouldn't be far behind their puffin cousins ;)
The other avian harbinger of spring has made its way to Icelandic shores, right on time.
The puffin was spotted in two localities last week, Grímsey (north) and Borgarfjarðar eystri (east). It will take them a bit longer to arrive in the south & west.
Sea clowns are here! #iceland

That's a good point. I thought there'd be some controls, but I guess not.
I think our most expensive ticket was front row for Handball, but it was such a fun experience and worth it! Given the prices I'm seeing for LA, I think my entire trip might have been less than one of those tickets. And there's no direct flights to LA from where I live anyway. Oh well, no loss ;)
Daaaaang. L.A. what are you doing?
I went to the Paris games. Our lottery number got pulled pretty early but most of the "big" sports were already unavailable. That said, we saw six different sports, and all tickets were 25-175€ each. Including beach volleyball in front of the Eiffel Tower.
