Cases of bowel cancer in young adults are increasing at an alarming rate: there are too many stories like Bradley's, a young man who died from bowel cancer in his early twenties. @icr.ac.uk are fundraising so we can lead more research to prevent and better treat bowel cancer at all ages.

Epigenetically driven and early immune evasion in colorectal cancer evolution - Nature Genetics This study nominates immune escape as an early event in colorectal cancer and shows how this can be driven through both genetic and epigenetic changes.

Both projects involve lots of collaboration, supervision, mentorship and training (& travel!) across our @evomg-dn.bsky.social network. They mandate motility across the #EU and partner countries too. Consequently I think the studentships will offer exceptionally rich #PhD experiences.
