Check out the latest from the watt lab - happy to have played a small part! Have a read if you are interested in aging, ephys and chemogenetics!

flexing yet another patch-filled Purkinje cell
#flourescentfriday dedicated to some cheeky cerebellar microglia and astrocytes (GFAP ๐ต, IBA1 ๐ฃ)
hot of the 2P - a patch-filled Purkinje cell from an 18 month old mouse!
A stunning Purkinje cell patch-filled with AF594!
In addition to this, I am also looking at how clock genes in the cerebellum contribute to diurnal activity disruptions in SCA6 and how Purkinje cell clock genes might be playing a greater, non-circadian role in the cerebellum โฐ
this is also an appropriate time to describe my research: I am currently a PhD3 student at McGill studying how Purkinje cells in different topographical regions of the cerebellar vermis promote disease and/or resilience in SCA6. Lots of slice ephys and (hopefully) nice conofocal images to follow!
dedicating my first post to this FIRE (i swear I am funnier than this) Purkinje cell from a 13-month old mouse!
