The cost of these delays are felt by children, families, schools, and communities for years to come. Together, we can make sure no child is left waiting without the support they need. 3/3

In 2024/25, 35,000 children and young people in England waited more than two years for their second contact with mental health services. During these long gaps, mental health can worsen and children can feel increasingly isolated. 2/3

A blue poster reading “Children’s Mental Health Week 2026”. In the centre, an artist’s easel holds a white canvas covered with multiple blue handprints in different shades, symbolising children’s voices and wellbeing. A small lighthouse icon appears in the bottom right corner.
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week.
Children’s mental health deserves early attention and compassionate care. Early experiences shape lifelong wellbeing, yet too many children are waiting far too long for support. 1/3

Blue graphic with the text “Incomplete data makes real need hard to see.” Below, a blurred line graph is shown inside a white panel, with a magnifying glass highlighting a small section of the data. A lighthouse icon appears in the bottom-right corner.
Mind’s 2025 report is clear: we need better mental health data. Across workplaces, universities, charities and government bodies, decision-makers are often working with incomplete, inconsistent or outdated information. Without clarity, it’s hard to understand the scale of need or what isn't working.

One panel displays anonymised text blocks around a central lighthouse icon, while another shows a rising line graph and adjustable sliders, representing aggregated data insights and trend analysis. Blue abstract background with subtle numerical patterns.
Universities need mental health tools that work at scale, proactively and with insight. Galea helps by offering a private self-check platform for students, equipping wellbeing teams with structured assessment tools and providing aggregated, anonymised data that reveal campus-wide patterns.
Blue graphic showing four simplified student icons in a row, with one highlighted to represent “1 in 4.” Text reads: “1 in 4 university students in the UK have a diagnosed mental health condition,” followed by “and 30% say their mental health worsened since starting.” A small lighthouse icon appears in the bottom-right corner.
1 in 4 university students in the UK now has a diagnosed mental health condition. Even more concerning, 30% say their mental health has worsened since starting university. Universities need better tools to understand the scale of the issue and deliver early, accessible support.
Two colleagues sit together at a table in a café-style workspace, smiling and looking at a laptop. At the top of the image, a blue banner reads: “Over half of UK employees feel more productive when their organisation offers mental-health support.”
Half of employees in the UK say they feel more productive when their organisation offers mental health support. It’s a reminder that the right resources don’t just reduce distress; they help people thrive.

An overhead view of four people bumping fists around a desk, suggesting teamwork and support. On the desk are notebooks, a laptop, a phone, and a small green plant. At the top of the image, a blue banner reads: “Galea provides the tools HR and EAPs need to support your team."
Support that’s reactive is no longer enough. Organisations need early, scalable engagement to truly support their people.
Galea provides a private, stigma-free self-check tool for employees, while supporting EAPs and HR teams with organisation-wide insights.

Work-related stress, depression and anxiety led to 17.1 million lost working days last year. Every lost day is a person trying to cope with more than the job description. Work is a major part of life and when mental health suffers, everything suffers. Source: www.livecareer.co.uk/career-advic...
Team Galea wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. This period is one of connection. For others, it can feel complicated or heavy. However you’re feeling, your experience is valid.

Blue graphic with white text at the top reading, ‘Together we can build better support systems.’ On the right side is a simple illustration of a construction crane lifting a block labelled ‘Quality’ and placing it above two blocks labelled ‘Access’ and ‘Efficiency.’ In the bottom left corner, a rounded blue badge shows a white lighthouse icon with the words ‘Insight 2025.’ The background has a subtle dotted pattern.
There’s a long road ahead, but there are signs that change is possible in how children and young people are supported.
In parts of the UK, better coordination have helped improve access and strengthened care. These examples show that better outcomes are possible.

Blue graphic with white text at the top reading, ‘Galea helps deliver the right support.’ Below the heading are three shield icons arranged horizontally. The left shield shows a clipboard with a tick and is labelled ‘Peer Benchmarking.’ The centre shield shows a numbered list and is labelled ‘Structured Assessments.’ The right shield shows a smartphone icon and is labelled ‘Support between appointments.’ In the bottom left corner, a rounded blue badge shows a white lighthouse icon with the words ‘Insight 2025.
Galea helps by offering structured, consistent assessments supported by peer benchmarking across thousands of anonymised journeys. This collective insight helps identify concerns that might otherwise be missed and ensures each young person’s needs are understood with clarity.
Blue graphic with white text at the top reading, ‘1 in 5 children and young people now have a mental-health problem.’ Below the text is a row of five simple person icons; four are white and one in the centre is blue, representing the statistic. Further text reads, ‘and many don’t receive the right care for them.’ At the bottom left, a rounded blue badge shows a white lighthouse icon with the words ‘Insight 2025.’ The background features layered blue wave shapes.
More than 1 in 5 children and young people now have a diagnosable mental-health problem. But with limited capacity, the NHS is only able to support around 40% and even fewer receive the right care for them. The gap isn’t only access. Its accuracy, timing, and matching needs to support. #MentalHealth
This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme was Community, a reminder that even when the statistics feel daunting, connection still matters. Community support doesn’t replace better systems, but it does reduce suffering and sometimes the smallest conversations make the biggest difference.
Blue graphic with white text at the top reading, ‘Galea works across the care pathway to reduce the harm waiting can cause.’ Below the text is a large blue shield icon with a white outline and a clock symbol inside. In the bottom left corner, a rounded blue badge shows a white lighthouse icon with the words ‘Insight 2025.’ The background features a dark blue gradient with faint numbers scattered across it.
Long waits increase distress, risk, and pressure on services. Galea helps by providing structured self assessments, easy to share reports with practitioners, and a way for organisations to understand needs sooner, even before an appointment begins.

Blue graphic with white text at the top reading, ‘One in three people say their mental health got worse while waiting for support.’ Below the text is a stylised icon of three people in blue with a subtle shadow. At the bottom left, a rounded blue badge shows a white lighthouse icon with the words ‘Insight 2025.’ The background features layered blue wave shapes.
More than one in three people say their mental health gets worse while waiting for support from a GP, charity, or community service. Waiting doesn’t just delay care, it deepens need. As we look back at 2025, this remains one of the most pressing challenges across the system.

Graphic for National Grief Awareness Week. The text at the top reads ‘National Grief Awareness Week, 2–8 December’ in bold white letters on a blue gradient background. Below the text is a simple illustration of a white flower with a yellow centre and a green stem and leaf, set against soft, wavy blue shapes.
It's National Grief Awareness Week. Grief takes many forms and follows no single timeline.

A blue gradient graphic with small dotted texture. At the top, large white text reads “40% of men don’t ever talk about their mental health.” On the left is a white lighthouse shining a bright beam of light across the image. Inside the beam, blue text reads “Your Mental Health Matters.”
It's international men’s day.
Your mental health matters, today and everyday. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50, yet surveys show 40% of men don’t talk about their mental health. We all have a role to play in ending stigma and building better support systems.
A blue gradient graphic announcing scheduled downtime. The text reads “Offline — 16th of November, 18:00–06:00.” Below, a stylised computer window shows the message “Loading new features” with a blue progress bar and a button labelled “Back soon.”
On Sunday, we’ll be updating Galea with visual improvements to assessments - the first step in many updates and features to come. The assessment tool will be offline on 16/11/25 from 18:00 to 06:00 while we implement these updates.
