His last act as Jnr Minister/forestry owner - trying to set up the Sitka Youth

This is good, but, Ireland is food secure because Ireland (at least the south) is part of a massive single market that is food secure (that's ultimately the purpose of the CAP). What Europe is not secure in, is energy.
A signature page with several Kennedy signatures
Signature of John F Kennedy Jr, when he was junior, in June 1967. From the Shannon airport visitor book.
This one on the Healy-Raes is, I think, going to stick.
Somewhere deep in the Vatican a mixed team of cardinals and professional comedy writers are on hour six of trying to craft a papal tweet God would be ok with but which nevertheless calls Vance a couch-fucker.
Might I humbly offer, "I turn the other cheek, not the other couch cushion (5:39)."
I would really like to understand why kerosene has gone up 90% when crude has gone up 45% this year.

yes, I don't think they have completely done it (not to the point that it is on the shelves) but they have politically committed to it.
Just approving DIY solar (aka balcony solar) would be a good idea. Get a small amount of solar to a large number of people. Wouldn't cost anything, just have to tell the electrical industry and regulator to shut up and get on with it.
Increase in household carbon tax, due for May 1, has been deferred until October's Budget @virginmedianews.bsky.social
Existing excise cuts on motor fuels will be extended from the end of May, to the end of July
Government is also to seek EU approval to cut excise by more than the legal floors allow - a further 10c cut on petrol and diesel, and 2.4c on green diesel, effective from midnight on Tuesday
If getting off oil means building nukes and renewables and pumped hydro storage then lets do that. Oil is just too much drama. #speirgorm
There could be changes to fuel taxes, maybe the introduction of a stabilisation element that is revenue neutral over the long term. Just demanding oil derivatives to be cheap and abundant isn't going to work. We need to migrate away from oil. #speirgorm
Doonbeg is completely open and is not critical infrastructure. Just sayin.
It would take a fraction of that to close Doonbeg for the day. Inconvenience the one man who made it happen.
Loads of confused Americans getting off the bus at Parnell square from the airport and just heard one

would have more of an impact.
So the same Islamic ruling class in Iran now gets to put a toll on a Strait that was open and free before America intervened in the first place. Masterful gambit, sir
TACO Tuesday. We all like TACO Tuesday.
The only winning move is not to play.
How about a nice game of chess?
They’re hanging a bicycle by a noose. Because bikes are the cause of high oil prices, apparently. That’s some high quality protesting there.

I am sure Micheál Martin will summon the US Ambassador tomorrow for a meeting without coffee, but perhaps it might be an idea to do it today.

Kamala Harris’s Easter message:
Can't say I am especially keen on threats that have a single precise time associated with them. Someone needs to take the sharp knives away.
A festive Easter message for us all. What times we live in.
