One sweet thing about the Lorne doc & Susan Morrisons Lorne book for me as a Jew, is that it finds ways to tie in regular Jewish aspects of life into making Lorne the person he is. Like the Kaddish teaching him how to be disciplined. A Jewish summer camp giving him an opportunity to find the arts 🧵

I’m willing to turn a blind eye on the last sketch of the night being another “the host is hot” because it’s apparently Connor’s trunk piece from when he was in Groundlings. Will not shame the host of the show wanting to do a sketch that is from a time he was still learning to be an actor.
What really stuck with me on their podcast is that this was young Iranians first exposure to political satire against those in power. Their impact for something so stupid was giving Iranian creatives the power the express themselves

We tried to explain to her she only doesn’t like it bc subconsciously she’s still thinking about the time we unintentionally traumatized her. Shes 15 now. I do not know her stance on Muppets
She freaks out and starts crying & we had no idea why it would be scary to her, for the remaining few years she always bawled when we played the ornament bc it reminded her of the “scary” video. a few yrs later my brother & I were talking about Muppets and she casually says she doesn’t like them
My brother & I went through a phase in high school where we enjoyed watching Muppet movies. And we decided that since out then 2 yr old sister liked the Xmas ornament singing; we should show her the video. What we didn’t anticipate is her getting scared at the fire that shows up in the video
