Demonstrating for science risks politicizing it. But, that *doesn't* mean we shouldn't do it.

A few folks have asked what our research has to say about to most effectively advocate for science, in advance of @standupforscience.bsky.social events.

One of my amazing @busph.bsky.social students was featured as a runner-up in @kffhealthnews.org Health Policy Valentine contest!

What to make for my valentine?
Maybe a cake on which we can dine!
But raw milk and flu-ish eggs won’t do.
Perhaps some fluoridated water in lieu?

Trump 2.0 Interim Dean Michael Stein asks, does the new administration intends to make American health better? A more commonsense approach is to make improvements, not chaos.

"If you believe that industry, on its own, will clean its toxic waste, and never poison the ground, water, and air—basic drivers of our health—you should eliminate the EPA of course. But most of us would agree that a more commonsense approach is to make improvements, not chaos." @busph.bsky.social

Luigi Mangione update as police say 3D printer may have made ghost gun The gun used in last week's fatal shooting of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson may have been created with a 3D printer.

Police say #LuigiMangione may have used a #ghostgun to kill UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.

SPH's Jonathan Jay previously told @newsweek.com that "restrictions on ghost guns are really important" because the weapons "make it easier for anyone to get access to a gun."
