It’s easy to applaud when horrible people are attacking each other. As Sun Tzu wrote, when your enemies are making a mistake, don’t interrupt.

But don’t for a minute let them get away with framing current circumstances as “the new Trump.” They always knew he was awful… He just wasn’t awful to them.

Perhaps my favorite pastime is making my friends watch The Pest and I’ve finally found a way to turn it into content

the democrats deliberately boosted the candidacy of donald trump and ran status-quo empty suits against him and those brilliant strategies got the US two trump terms. a few oddly still have the audacity to blame the left for their lack of enthusiasm in cheering on these obviously awful plans

Setting timers on all my apps helped a little, but man my fiancé and I agreed to no video games before 8pm and I’ve finished a full video (release tomorrow!) and two books so far this year.

The marked/unmarked framework was so important for changing how I was thinking about things like bias and public spectacles around trans identities. Glad I can send people a video about it now instead of trying to get them to just read a single chapter of a book.

Prejudice and the Unmarked/Marked Mindset
Prejudice and the Unmarked/Marked Mindset YouTube video by Julia Serano

🧵NEW VIDEO ESSAY: much of the focus of my post-Whipping Girl work (especially my books Sexed Up & Excluded) has been on understanding prejudice more generally & the role that "markedness" plays in how we (mis)perceive & (mis)interpret others. this video summarizes all that work! youtu.be/xiU-G0mTYVY

years and years of avoiding plain language and the active voice do make the choice to use it more impactful, I suppose

Tech bros have to reinvent everything we already had a solution for. “We use it for placeholder text” my friend lorem ipsum has existed and been used for placeholder text in design for longer than I have been alive

Look man I don’t think the people being poisoned by data centers really care if you remove the generated assets before shipping, and I don’t really care if you “only” use the machine that stole my shit and convinced teens to off themselves for internal PowerPoints.

Cool motive. Still bullshit tho.

I have never been on the campus of Harvard or any other university in the last 40 years, but I did watch With Honors on Netflix. Here's what American higher education needs to do differently....(1/88)

Posts like this help too. Remembering that I am not uniquely terrible for feeling this way and that imposter syndrome comes for us all, from the million subs down to the sub 1k channels. No amount of subs or views will make me feel like I “made it” so I shouldn’t stress so much.

I screenshotted a comment on one of my videos where somebody said I helped them through a tough time in their life and I reeead it often. My Night in the Woods and Life is Strange videos get comments like that sometimes and when I want to suddenly delete everything I ever made they help a lot.

In Defense of Nostalgia YouTube video by Writing Women

New video about nostalgia is out now! It’s about how sometimes nostalgia for the past can help you heal and move forward in your life while guarding against the ways it can trap you in the past. Night in the Woods and Lost Records make an appearance because of course they do youtu.be/UW4qjU89_lo

“What’s rhetoric and what’s policy” gtfo. There shouldn’t be a difference between rhetoric and policy and they don’t know how to act when politicians seemingly mean what they say. What a big, slimy baby.

Last night my partner and I picked up the new @themountaingoats.bsky.social album thinking we would listen to it while doing stuff around the house. We wound up dancing around the record player till it was over. What a night.

This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion
