this i assume is due to the strong influence of german medical science in japan at the time. iirc this also lead to delays of fixing scurvy in the japanese navy even after the british already found solutions, since german scientists had a different opinion.

as long as they're growing alfalfa in the desert, not really. they would save a lot of water if their alfalfa fields got paved over by data centers.

getting randomly banned is just the X new user experience. either that or the milder "your account got automatically flagged for suspicious activity (existing) which might reduce reach. want premium?"

crazy specs on this drone: battery with 16kw peak power, requiring water-cooling for electronics; so fast that if it passes too close to the controller doppler effect causes connection loss and crash

interesting attempt by the authors to create longitudinal data by using the shift in the frequency of words that indicate AI use. but it'd be great if authors began making use of AI explicit. which model they used and for what. is there any support for this by journals?

as i understand it the cheating protocol enabled the low-emission mode only when being tested. why not enable it all the time which would come at the cost of performance. maybe it's possible to save even more if willing to take an even higher hit. most EVs already have different power levels.
