New Zealand is planning to designate O9A as a terrorist organization – and they are basing their assessment on the amazing reporting by @awinston.bsky.social in Wired and @hanrahan.tv on his podcast @popularfront.co. It's so good to see real expertise on extremism recognized in the political realm.

As a desi, I’m fascinated by the Indians who caped hard for Trump. Many of them seem to have felt insulated by their wealth and success—the “model minority”—only to now realize that a lot of MAGA hates them. @ashwinrodrigues.com reports: www.wired.com/story/maga-i...
that’s the real foreign influence op in the US - aside from Israel ofc

One group still has this "North American Tour" challenge coin for sale. "FAFO" stands for "Fuck Around and Find Out", a phrase popularized by the Proud Boys.
They also took down a challenge coin commemorating Operation Midway Blitz, the enforcement surge last year in Chicago. You should read @awinston.bsky.social and my reporting about the government's deployment of specialized Border Patrol agents there: www.wired.com/story/border...
Screenshot of a challenge coin for sale that depicts Charlotte's Web characters in riot gear
After we contacted one of the groups, they removed multiple listings we identified, including the "Charlotte's Web" challenge coin that the children's book publisher HarperCollins said was an "unauthorized use of the intellectual property associated with a beloved children’s book"
NEW: I found IRS paperwork for several nonprofits whose addresses matched Border Patrol stations. Some of the groups, named after the military's "morale, welfare, and recreation" program, were selling challenge coins commemorating last year's enforcement surges: www.wired.com/story/us-bor...
Movements to shut down or ban data centers are amassing power and notching victories. Wikipedia has banned AI-generated content in articles. Publishers and entertainment studios are being pushed to reject AI-produced content outright.
In other words: It's open season for refusing AI.
It says a lot about where we are that one can read the entire @nytimes.com story on the firing of the Attorney General of the United States without a *single* reference to that officer's duty to uphold the Constitution—which might just sometimes make it just a little hard to do the boss's bidding:
@WIRED keeps doing the job.

In 2025, wind and solar generated more EU electricity than fossil fuels for the first time ever, marking what experts described as a “major milestone” in the transition to clean power. 👍

One of the SUVs that arrived was driven by John Bockstanz, a Michigan resident and former Marine who runs a company that sells pre-workout supplements on the side—“Conquer each day with unparalleled potency,” promises the “Alpha Testosterone Booster.” With him was agent John Leslie from BORTAC’s Detroit detachment.
Set aside time to read this Wired unmasking of BORTAC goons.
Here's a predictable detail: One of them sells testosterone supplements.

multiple united states bases in the area are essentially abandoned. the united states has no operational control over the strait. multiple PRICELESS radar stations have been destroyed by iran. the casualties are far higher than the government is admitting. the average american knows none of this
americans have absolutely no idea how badly the war is going for the united states, all thanks to the gutless, witless journalists who refuse to cover the facts of the situation
NEW: Here's the video @wired.com made of me and @awinston.bsky.social discussing this investigation: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d73...
Read the article. It’s all in there
MANY of these BORTAC agents were involved in the immigration blitzes in LA, NorCal, Minneapolis, Boston, charlotte and elsewheres. @pacantifa.is has identified a number of them.
I’ll pick this thread up later today but for more, read our investigation.
If you have a tip, contacts are in my bio
This BORTAC crew from the Rio Grande Valley BORTAC detachment (L. Andy Chavez, R. Tee Rico) were at the center of a snatch & grab in the Northside neighborhood of Irving Park right before a children's Halloween parade. Rico's wife, fwiw, is a TV reporter who's covered BORTAC w/no conflict disclosure
By mining those data, we ID'd 62 BORTAC members involved in the Chicago clashes, including Padraic Berlin (Detroit BORTAC), who set his K9 loose on an undocumented man during the infamous South Shore Apartment raid, & Paul Delgado (BORTAC El Paso), who was on the same entry team
A federal lawsuit filed against DHS by Chicago reporters & activists last year pried loose dozens of E-STAR reports & 70+hours of bodycam videos from the government. Chicago outlet @unraveledpress.com used these records in this excellent February report unraveledpress.com/identified-t...
I've spent 2 decades reporting on law enforcement & holding brutal & corrupt cops to account. It's always about finding the papertrail, & like other domestic law enforcement agencies, any time the Border Patrol uses force, they document it via a system called E-STAR
Along w/BORSTAR, the Border Patrol's Search, Trauma & Rescue Unit for wildland rescues & created in the late 90's to address rising migrant deaths along the Southern border, BORTAC was used as the 'tip of the spear' for DHS' immigration blitzes in Chicago, LA, MN, & elsewhere
BORTAC, or the Border Patrol's Tactical Unit, was founded in 1984 to suppress riots in immigration detention centers. Since then, it has grown to 11 detachments around the US country plus its main element out of Ft. Bliss in Texas (259 agents as of 2020) www.wired.com/story/ice-cb...
The genesis of this investigation (w/@regret.bsky.social, @timmarchman.bsky.social , @couts.bsky.social, @hudsongiles.bsky.social & @samspengler.bsky.social) was the winged insignia worn by Greg Bovino & several camouflaged Border Patrol agents thruout At Large, Midway Blitz & Metro Surge - BORTAC
