Today is the first birthday of my novel, THE MEMORY WARD. For those of you who did take a chance on this novel, I can't thank you enough. And for those of you who neglected it, I will never, ever forgive you. An awful fate awaits you.

I feel wonderful when somebody gives my novel a great review, but I also take perverse pleasure when somebody hates the story because writing novels is tortuous, and I like people to share in my misery.
