I do love running the write-ins. Such an easy way to give people community. We write for 2.5 hours, talk for one. Best part of my week.

Writing is often about discovering the path as you walk it. ✨

I love this and also: this hypothetical questioner needs to ask themself, truly, why they want to write in the first place.

Because asking the question in and of itself suggests that this is a person who doesn't want to try to get better. And if that's true, why bother? No one's MAKING you write.

A huge thank you to the Federation of BC Writers. And to Barbara Black- who chose my flash piece as runner up in the 2024 contest. I’m so grateful!

I bet they do. Start at the library- ask the librarian if you can hang up a sign. Take a class from a local school- if offered in English. I’ve met some great friends in online classes who live around the world- one was “writing dark fiction” with Richard Thomas.

The ending- bleak but true. We will probably destroy ourselves if given enough time.

I forgot how effed this story is. I mean, I love it, but wow. The ending? Spoiler alert- Something for us to ponder.
