Two songs from the 2015 album remastered and sounding great. Eight more to go. πΉπΆπ I also might have also adjusted the mix on one of songs from the 2016 album I wasn't quite happy with and quietly updated it on SoundCloud today π€«

One song from the 2015 album done. I'm really happy with how the remaster turned out. Nine more to go. Probably will start the next one tomorrow. ππΉπΆ
Fired up GarageBand. Traveling back to 2015 for some remastering / remixing / re-recording of my songs in multi-track using the newer recording & mixing techniques I've been using since 2023. One song in progress. ππΉπΆ
Looks like Apple fixed it in the 26.4.1 update. π
Got as far as getting the Yamaha PSR-SX720 moved into my office and all set up today. I played through my 2015 album. No remastering / remixing / re-recording (yet). Maybe tomorrow I'll fire up GarageBand and we'll see how things go. π€πΉπΆ
Still trying to work up the motivation to move my Yamaha keyboard into my office and get it set up. With everything going on in the world right now it is hard to get in a mood to remaster / remix / re-record some older instrumental pop songs from happier times. Not feeling it today. Maybe tomorrow.
Probably would have been the same here, except I was force unwrapping an optional based on the comparison (and I knew both had to be true before doing that or it would fail - mind said "&&", fingers said "||" and the app said "Kaboom" rather than quietly failing which made it easy to spot the bug.
Had to do some banking stuff today. Personally was able to use my new "Duplicate Transaction" feature in Finance 10 for the first time in one of my accounts. Was happy. π
For what it's worth, my apps at yenco.com are still available for a one time fee on the App Store (and that's my preference). It is getting harder to justify that model though as fewer people make that purchase and I have bills to pay and dwindling resources to work on the free updates & upgrades.
Spent the last couple of days in Blocs updating my website to fix a font issue in dark mode, refining the feedback form, and some other small improvements. www.yenco.com
The Finance 10.1.1 update is out for macOS. The iOS & iPadOS version will likely go into review soon and be available shortly after that.
A Finance 10.1.1 update is on the way (submitted to Apple). A user reported a bug when trying to edit an existing (pre-Finance 10) account. Got that fixed up (was a stupid #SwiftUI mistake on my part using "||" instead of "&&" on two things I was evaluating with the new currency formatting stuff).
If there were some other factors for the appearance then one would have to wonder why the iOS & iPadOS graphical date picker and the sidebar graphical date picker on macOS in the Calendar app doesn't adhere to them. Why they are not explained in the interface guidelines.
The only explanation I can think of is there is some low-level code from NeXT from the late 80s that Apple (with all of their vast resources) can't figure out how to replace in 2026? Doesn't seem very likely. But it is the only excuse I can come up with.
Apple exacerbated the problem with the macOS graphical date picker by going with two characters instead of one for the column headings and going with a trailing alignment for the columns. It is 2026, there is no excuse for the poor design. I really hope that Apple finally fixes it this year.
Indeed, but Apple knows how to do this better. Just look at the graphical date picker in iOS & iPadOS or you don't even have to leave macOS. Look at this graphical date picker from the sidebar of the Calendar app.
Would be tolerable with centered headers with a single character instead of 2 and the dates centered as well and taking up just a little more space to allow the elements some breathing room. You have a beautiful example of a great design in iOS & iPadOS. This thing is just painful to look at and I still can't believe this is the best Apple can do in 2026.
I love the Apple design team's work and attention to detail. I just hope that someone from the team can corner whoever is responsible for the macOS graphical date picker design and get them to finally update that ancient monstrosity before this year's WWDCβ¦ please π
@blocs.bsky.social I might have gone just a bit overboard with the virtual confetti on my yenco.com website while celebrating the release of Finance 10 (and then the 10.1 update). π₯³π
Improved the new budget chart feature! Finance 10.1 for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS is now available! www.yenco.com/finance.html
Thinking about remastering / remixing / re-recording more of my past #instrumental #pop #music after I get the Finance 10.1 update released. π€πΉπΆ
Just submitted the Finance 10.1 update for macOS, iOS & iPadOS to Apple. Just waiting for review. Was going to hold off for a bit but the improvements in the budget chart are so cool I couldn't wait. π
Sadly not the only bug in 26.4. Open up a save dialog (in any app in macOS) and try typing something like "Apple.com 2" and as soon as you hit the space after the m, the entire name disappears and if you are not paying attention you'll end up with a file named "2". π―
No I didn't see that. π€ Not really sure what can be done about it until Apple fixes it. It sounds like it impacts background syncing, but the sync will happen when an app is brought to the foreground? Looks like it was a good move to add the sync status in Finance 10 so users know what is going on.
Wasted so much time in #SwiftUI trying to fix a problem that wasn't a bug in my code. Forgot that .onMove() doesn't work in Xcode iOS / iPadOS Previews. π But I don't feel so bad - AI didn't figure it out either when I asked it why my code wasn't working.
Came up with a way to make the budget chart in Finance 10 even better. Figured out how to make the chart colors correspond with the fund list in #SwiftUI so I can eliminate the legend. And while I was fixing things up, got it to put the General Fund at the end of the chart to match the list. π
For iOS / iPadOS I had to get a bit more creative with my #SwiftUI test project code and use a Menu instead of a Picker.
Had some fun today adding a color popup to my test #SwiftUI project on macOS & iOS / iPadOS. Picker works great for macOS
My thanks to everyone for checking out my app and supporting my efforts! I appreciate it so much.
