Many of the major conflicts going on right now come down to misunderstandings of active/structural violence. People in power abuse the fact that structural violence is death by a thousand cuts and therefore harder to track and correlate.

The stories are long form journalism, not punchy headlines.

I can’t say that I support people fire-bombing the homes of people they disagree with; but I can say that when the disagreements are around people’s access to affordable living and clean drinking water… I get it?

Both are bad but if you’re weighing the scales based on impact they tilt heavily.
