I think we're not wasting it anymore. Because Ukraine is smart enough to show everyone they have unique military "cards". I think it's more likely that it will work first with bilateral agreements, then with a more multilateral approach. We're getting there, slower than we would want, but we will.
There we go again, not learning any lesson for the past 15 years that any country can backslide from Copenhagen criteria and can take the whole EU down with it. Time for the EU to go for QMV and active enforcement of rule of law & fair democratic rules & healthy information space in each MS.
The only chance for all of us in CEE is if Ukraine crushes Russia. I am hopeful this can actually happen, with Ukraine now hitting Russia hard.
🇺🇦As the author of this article, I urge foreign politicians, diplomats, opinion leaders, and public figures to seriously consider the idea of an international presence as a tool to reduce risks to the civilian population in Odesa.

Brilliant.
Latest in @theatlantic.com The Ukrainians are now longer pretending that Donald Trump's USA is their friend. Their honesty is important as they seem to understand how much Trump is helping Putin and how important it is that Europe stick together. Gift Link. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
After saying on Wednesday that the Trump administration would not extend a temporary sanctions waiver on Russian oil, the White House did exactly the opposite on Friday and renewed the Russian oil waiver.
💥 Russia: Ukrainian housewife kitchen drones imposed kinetic sanctions on Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery in Samara region, 1,100km from Ukraine.
174,000 bpd output.
Today, the Trump administration quietly removed paper sanctions on Russian oil at the end of Friday business day.
It's consistent with their push against social assistance, healthcare, education, science, vaccines, large scale layoffs etc. They think they can live just fine in a group of a few thousands broligarchs, the rest of humanity can go extinct - and that "fixes" also climate, environment etc. for them.
I think these tech bros have a really messed up idea that if they make a major breakthrough with AI they can really do without the rest of humanity. They're betting all their money on it.
And Spain should bloody stop increasing its purchases of Russian gas.
Probably forgot to extend and some good people in the Treasury decided not to remind :)) the question is whether there will be any enforcement.
Don't want to be overoptimistic, but I'd like to see an example of even one sector from the civil economy that is growing. Apart from funerals. The windfall from oil may keep their banking sector from collapsing for a few months, but it will not be enough even to cover the current year's deficit.
How can it grow if entire sectors go bankrupt? Yes, they will make some additional money from oil, but that won't save their economy. The economy is hurt by additional taxes, loss of internet, increased costs of imports, loss of demand, hidden unemployment. This is what even pro-govt economists say.
*Tisza also "benefitted" the rigged electoral system in Hu, their vote was actually around 53%.
He seems to be choosing both
Grasroots action - like Magyar in Hungary. He defeated an informational space 90% dominated by Orban (both classical and social media). He worked for 2 years having sometimes as many as 3 events per day discussing with people across the country, explaining the stakes for people & corruption.
These are 2 different things - corruption on EU money and domestic corruption. On the latter he will still have to reform the judiciary. Maybe with external vetting.
I don't think anyone overplays JD Vance's role, it's just such a big satisfaction that Trump/Vance failed miserably too.
Can you explain how / when votes of Hungarians from Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine come in? Do polls take into account also these voters?
International far-right networks: Peter Jukes and Nafeez Ahmed reveal how James Orr, Nigel Farage’s new head of policy, is the key religious and ideological linkman for Palantir’s Peter Thiel and Sir Paul Marshall’s GB News. bylinetimes.com/2026/04/07/j...
The destruction of Russia's oil infrastructure must continue. Russia couldn't increase volumes, but sold at 3x higher price. Plus in March they also sold oil that had been floating around on ships in search of a buyer before US started the war in Iran.
As an European, I sure wish all that competence, brilliance and kindness would move here...
Donate to Ukraine directly and regularly so they can bomb more expensive stuff in Russia and Russia must spend money on repairs. u24.gov.ua
It would have been interesting to see Hungary and Romania
"57% of swing voters think of staying home or voting blue."
Wtf, 43% of SWING voters STILL think of voting red?!? Not MAGA, but literally voters who switched from Biden in 2020 to Trump in 2024? What's wrong with people?
🇭🇺📞 Orbán told Putin during a phone call that he stands ready to assist Moscow. He offered help in settling the war against Ukraine and in organizing a potential summit in Budapest. The call took place in October 2025.

I was just talking to a friend today about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - new books every month, totally for free, for kids ages 1-5.
My son was part of the program - this is a copy of the letter that came with his last book, right after his 5th birthday.
