HomeFirst Down Payment Assistance Program - HPD

www.nyc.gov/site/hpd/ser... NYC will give you up to 100k which is frankly insane.

You can already get extremely low down payments now, you just have to pay PMI. Also, I’m not sure about other states but New York has downpayment assistance programs that will give you up to 15k.

The other thought I had is that strong residential growth in center city might not correlate to strong transit use. I never took SEPTA less than the year I lived in center city.

SEPTA periodically been gut shot by various crises (83 Strike, Railworks, COVID, funding) but after those crises it would genuinely make real strides. 2019 was a high point and by then they had finally surpassed pre SEPTA ridership

Yeah, about the same. Or something about ethical responsibility to make targeted and effective weapons that don’t cause collateral damage.

Every engineering ethics class I took in college mostly focused on ethical obligations to to do quality work, not lie to clients, and be honest in conflicts of business. I can’t speak for all of these courses but my general understanding is the ethics of what you’re doing is not really focused on

The pitch on the new gates is probably just slightly different. It’s funny though.

The US domestic capacity for railroad products is pretty awful. as far as I know there are only two rail mills left in the country.

There’s exactly one situation where a passenger accessible emergency brake is useful and it’s when the train is at a station and someone on the platform has something caught on the train. I think the NTT e brakes only work in stations because of this.

Does Brightline actually own the FEC or do they just have an operating agreement?

The vast majority of people killed by Brightline are pedestrians, crossing design and drivers don’t have that much to do with it.
