Advocacy mission to #Italy confirms deteriorating media freedom. Alarming findings include spyware attacks, legal harassment of journalists by governing politicians, minimal transposition of the EU Anti-SLAPP Directive, and politicisation of the public broadcaster RAI in violation of #EMFA. 🧵
#Lithuania: Despite concerns raised by the Venice Commission Parliament is pushing ahead with controversial LRT reforms. We firmly oppose the bill and call on the authorities to abandon their plans to freeze the public broadcaster funding and change the procedure for dismissing the Director General.
