Listening to various pods out on the street interviewing voters, people in Runcorn hating on labour because they've not magically fixed everything in Runcorn in under a year. Christ.

To poorer areas, do know and see this happening.
But something needs to change. People have less "get up and go", less drive! And that sucks.
But the way to fight these changes is not too challenge the premise as to why they're being put in, because most of us who live in/close
Before you all come for me, I know that these changes will disproportionately affect the people who are genuinely in need. And I'm not cool with that. I'm not saying I have the answer of how to do it in the right way
I just think that if we, as the left, want to fight these changes, we need to change the argument from "people aren't behaving in the way the right wing media and the government are saying they are".
Of the people I know personally who are gaming the system, they are perfectly content to never have a holiday and just chill at home, walking around town etc.
I'm not saying that the changes are correct. My dad had to fight for his PIP as a man with chronic pain, cancer and one leg. But I do LITERALLY see videos on socials talking about how to get diagnosed to get benefits.
Generations.
Yes COVID caused a situation which made mental health worse for everyone, but the rest of the world is back to pre-pandemic employment levels.
I'm struggling with the benefit cut thing... On the left everyone is in uproar and claiming that noone is being signed off who shouldn't be. Thing is though, I know about a dozen people PERSONALLY who do just that. I'm 30 and people my age and below are a lot less committed to working than previous
Thing in the world... I shiver at the thought of the money spent to fight this guy in the courts and all of the money in increasing project costs because of the delays.
Better roads mean more tourists, more investment, more cash-flow, more jobs, and a better experience for residents.
We have to balance the reality of the economy with our impact. Realistically a couple more lanes of road isn't the worst
Our roads being in the state they are. This is one of the only counties in the country without a motorway, and the main road through the county (A47) needs to be dualled throughout.
On the whole I'm a woke leftie millennial, right. I love the bats, the newts, the cats and the beauts of nature in general.
But people shouldn't be able to submit infinite quantities legal challenges to road improvements. There's a guy in Norfolk who is pretty much single-handedly responsible for
NEW: The actions of Trump and Vance in recent weeks highlight something under-appreciated.
The American right is now ideologically closer to countries like Russia, Turkey and in some senses China, than to the rest of the west (even the conservative west).

As a former resident of Great Yarmouth, I say, it couldn't have happened to a better reform MP.
I think Reform UK may be currently experiencing a rapid unscheduled disassembly. ~AA

These replies. Too many to keep reposting, but every one an inspiring gem.
I studied the parameters of a chemical reaction to attach cancer drugs to the surface of cancer cells but not healthy cells. The first generation I worked on was too slow to be effective, but the study led to developing the next generation of the reaction and it is now being used in clinical trials.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I can fully imagine this featuring in a documentary in ten years' time, all about how trump and musk created the environment ready for the maga home grown terrorists to take over Washington.
Just imagine a scenario in which PM Liz Truss was in charge now and then tell me that "all politicians are the same"

0630 today he's SCREAMING at me for his food. On a Saturday morning. After working 26 hours in under 2 days, I had perhaps fancied sleeping in until 0730.
TWO DAYS is all it took.
I had to go to London for 2 days (1 night) for work, so my cat has had his food at 0630 just two days running, the rest of the time he's used to having it btwn 0730-0800.
