Here’s to Dr. Stephen Mulkey! In his course, BSC3307C Climate Change Biology, Dr. Mulkey guides students through comprehensive sets of data and studies to help them understand the relationship between ecological changes and biological processes. #UFCOIP #UFCOIPInstructorSpotlight
I am honored to have worked with the amazing team at UF COIP!
We’re filling the atmosphere with CO2 like a bathtub with water. Most of it stays for millennia.
That is why the cumulative emissions (the total amount, as pictured here) and not yearly emissions determine the amount of #globalwarming.
Do you believe that climate facts should remain free from political interference and easily accessible? If so, watch our video and consider supporting our initiative.

Critiques of the DOE “Critical Review” of climate are emerging. Here’s an intro from @realclimate.org to get you ready for the release by @andrewdessler.com and colleagues this week.
Me too
From my daughter, Sachi Kitajima Mulkey.
She cites the same scientists that I would use to teach a graduate-level lecture on this.
Amazon birds are failing due to climate change. Many other signals indicate that this vast complex of forest ecosystems is in varying degrees of disruption. The bottom line for us is that enormous biodiversity and gigaton volumes of carbon are being lost.

Global emissions from heating are about 4x those from cooling.
Air conditioning is an important and lifesaving adaptation to climate change.
Decarbonize the grid.

This is an all out war on science. I was a program officer at NSF when the agency moved from Arlington to Alexandrea in 2017. My heart weeps for the employees that will need to deal with yet another move. This is how Trump attacked the USDA during Trump 1. NFS will take years to recover.
