Are there any good election tracking accounts I can follow on here to spend less time on the evil site?

Again, in actual democracies, ministers resign all the time, under threat of a no confidence vote in the parliament. We have a system where legislative confirmation totally fails ex ante to screen out wildly unqualified people, & ex post accountability depends on a toothless extraordinary measure.

You: arguing with people who share 90% of your opinions online about Democratic messaging strategy (neither of you work in or volunteer in politics)

This is a direct violation of the Tenth Amendment and State Sovereignty.

Conditioning federal funds on states surrendering their constitutional authority is not “law and order.” It’s coercion—and the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled it unconstitutional.

The scale of the protests in Iran are absolutely unbelievable. Hard to quantify, but I've seen some speculation that this uprising is more significant than the 2023 protests (themselves the largest challenge to the regime since it came into power in '79.)

The Democratic Party needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

This is pathetic. The calcified establishment is not up for this.

Been working on a map for a commission and it might be one of my favorite things I've ever done. Very proud of the sphere of influence notation and that awful Iraq border

I like how they can't handle this even though this describes the ancestry of a woman they endorsed to be president, twice.

The problem with the “Oh, do you want a cookie?” approach is that yes, people do want cookies. Their monkey brains have evolved to repeat behaviors which are rewarded and avoid repeating behaviors that are punished.

It's so awesome that the Soviets built their space program using brute force and trains. The very designs of the their rockets were constrained by the diameter of bridges and tunnels on the railways to Kazakhstan

Hard to see how this doesn't massively escalate things, esp if any of the targets are actually killed

Yeah I agree. Not the biggest David Hogg fan, but booting him on a "diversity quota" basis after he suggests primarying ancient incumbents sounds like something a Daily Wire parody of the DNC would do.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

I know posting "the girls are fighting" seems funny, but it's actually insensitive and shitty.

My father died in a girl fight. He tried to break it up and the girls pulled him apart like freshly baked bread. He didn't even scream. One moment he was there, the next just a spray of dad viscera.

Van Hollen: The U.S. Is 'Complicit' in Starving the People of Gaza Sen. Chris Van Hollen said the blocking of food and aid into Gaza is "collective punishment" and called on Trump to ask Israel to lift their blockade.

The vast majority of people in Gaza — 93 percent — are facing crisis levels of food insecurity, and Sen. Chris Van Hollen said that the United States is “complicit” in their hunger.
