I really want to see this but I really don't want to subscribe to yet another streamer. Why does CBC not have a deal with New Metric Media, who are doing such great Canadian programming? www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/film...
Shout out to the university students who are working hard to bring this winter to an end through the sheer force of their wardrobe choices.
In an era when so many shitty things are happening, I'm heartened by the fact that Angine de Poitrine are very popular at the moment.
Ridiculous fun.
...and Tesla sales are way down, yet Musk is the richest person in the world. Clearly there's much about contemporary economics I don't understand.
I’m ready to fight like hell for this country, and against anyone trying to tear it apart.
The richest man in the world wants Canada to become the 51st state and is now amplifying Alberta separatism.
So let’s ask the question:
Who is funding this movement?
Albertans deserve to know.
I've called this province home for more than a decade now and I'm no closer to understanding this.
A really good piece that will unfortunately not be read by those who need to hear it most.
Just colossally stupid by the organizers. Was this supposed to be "edgy"? www.cbc.ca/news/enterta...
I realize an update may be required tomorrow.
I'm glad the Globe is still able to do this kind of investigative journalism. No news outlet in Alberta has the resources, or in some cases desire, to conduct this level of reporting. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...
This might be the lowest point in American history. And he was voted in twice.
I believe CBC has been saying the online audience is coming for about 20 years now. Could it be that the Juno Awards this past Sunday was the time it actually happened?

This is the key. The collapse of twitter and the gutting of CBS are worthwhile investments or Weiss would be gone now.
We have a phantom e-bike stunt rider in our neighbourhood. He isn't trying to impress his friends; he travels solo. He rides wheelies and stands on his seat going down the trans Canada. The adult in me thinks he's a fool, but the little kid in me raised on Evel Knievel salutes him.

Everyone in Communication Studies needs to be aware of this. Critical scholarship is currently viewed as a national threat in the U.S. www.npr.org/2026/03/09/n...
Max Webster have aged well.
Global was an early supporter but dropped it. The show would have died if it weren't for an independent station in Edmonton, whose owner was a fan.
I will curse Bezos but I may have to subscribe to Amazon prime for a month
Another American democratic pillar, built over decades and centuries, crumbles within a year.
Don’t know how Carney resists calling an election
Just amazing innovation presented at the National Indigenous Connectivity Conference in Calgary the last two days. Well worth a look. drive.google.com/file/d/1y0w5...
Important thread from a key voice on media consolidation. Spoiler: it's bleak. As Leonard Cohen said "You want it darker..."
And here it is. My oh my.
Need to see a few more polls like this before I believe this is real.
all true.
...and so much of this is the direct result of a poorly functioning media system. Think of how Canada dodged a bullet with the collapse of SUN News Network. We have far more pressing concerns in Alberta than our currently snoozing bear population.
