YES that too! I didn't previously appreciate the versatility of the onomatopoetic form.

Akira book 6, by Katsuhiro Otomo
Finally read the Akira manga, which was so good it made me retroactively disappointed in the film adaptation (justice for Kei! and Chiyoko! and Miyako! And the much more blatant anti-imperialist themes)
Both excellent choices
Mitski at the Southern Cafe and Music Hall (Charlottesville, VA)....Chappell Roan at 9:30 Club
Feels obvious I would like this. And I do!
Doing an experiment where I listen to Angine de Poitrine even tho I haven't seen That Video

New from me in Washington City Paper, a feature on just a few of D.C.'s dozens of amazing local show photographers--a community as impressive and diverse as the music scene itself!
You should go to more shows.
For the @wcp.bsky.social spring arts guide, I wrote up Mclusky, Gelli Haha, and Dry Cleaning. That’s only a drop in the bucket for what’s ahead.

For the Spring Arts Guide, contributor Taylor Ruckle turns the camera on the documentarians of the city’s underground and DIY culture.
First one I thought of was Tongue Tied by Grouplove
I also think Arrival is his best and feel so ambivent about his Dunes. Didn't know he felt this way about dialog but it makes sense, the worst part of either Dune movie is any time a character is speaking
Album kicks so much ass. I can't handle energy drinks anymore, but that's ok, I can just put this on instead

The Albini version of Public Witness Program goes so hard
Highly recommend. Bought the first volume years ago when I was working at a used bookstore - public library has me covered for the rest
Stop literally everything.
Steve Albini's Fugazi sessions, widely bootlegged and full of lore, now available officially for the first time.
