Also note when he sticks to his script and when he goes off script. In the condolences part he's sticking to the script pretty closely, but in the vengeance and pettiness part he uses his own words.

If you want to know what kind of person trump is just listen to his press conference about the plane crash. Ignore the horrible things he said and listen to how he said them.

Note when he speaks with emotion. Not when he's offering condolences, it's when he's placing blame and going after enemies.
