I really love Jumpstart. I think it's a great way to pick up and play the game - I don't really want to spend time coming up with deck ideas, so being able to shuffle two half-decks together and go for it is just freeing.

Wyrd Science is a spot of light in the world of roleplaying, I definitely believe that. I want to support magazines in general, but WS is something that I honestly love to get.

BEETLEJUICE was released 36 years ago today. A surreal comedy that catapulted the careers of director Tim Burton and star Michael Keaton, the making of story is strange and unusual. It’s showtime…

The art is really good too!
I am hanging out at the party celebrating the new Switchyards, and it's lovely. I have been working software for decades here, and I don't recognize anyone.
My accounting spend reveals that this is a great deal!

GNU SIR TERRY PRATCHETT!
It's good to be the king.
This stuff is really great. It helps to show why playing a roleplaying game is great fun and how story is created from character, plus lets you know how the game system works. It's free online but I bought a copy of the comic and the game.
Well, now I need to check this out!
I'm thinking some chili and cheese, myself.
Genghis Con is pretty great - back when I was younger and had more time, my wife and I were involved with running games there, and had a great time. As far as I can see, the new owners have been doing a great job with the con.

Right!
Well, my kid is really into the Good Place right now, and what better way to enjoy The Good Place than to make The Brick Place?

Good points! But also, I'd really love a Spider-Gwen sort of movie, again without the multiverse. I see that they're already setting up a Spider Noir tv show through Amazon, which is also a good step.
That's what I was going to post! :)
In case you're wondering what 14 year old kids are doing these days, mine is enjoying the day off watching the third season of The Good Place while working on cosplay.
You did write for the Little Fuzzy franchise, which isn't your own, too. :)

The cover to Wyrd Science issue 2, it features a linocut illustration by Mat Pringle that pays homage to the DnD B/X box set cover replacing the people in the illustration with characters from Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Wanderhome
Ah just saw that WS2 is only five sales off going Gold on @drivethrurpg.com. Great issue that still holds up with features on DnD B/X, the OSR, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Wanderhome, Warhammer Soulbound & lots more. Get it cheap in our 6 issue megabundle here

3. Honestly, it's probably got more to do with the type of adventure you set up than the game system itself, although something with long-running combat will probably not work great. One shots should generally have clear goals that the pregens want to work towards, with bounded areas of adventure.
2. Savage Worlds has worked well in this timeframe before. Pay attention to make sure the characters can handle the opposition you set up, and they can get through an adventure pretty smoothly.
1. Call of Cthulhu, especially with a focused plot, can work fine in this timeframe. Haunted Houses, for instance, can be a lot of fun here, although I fondly remember a Haunted Chinese Buffet from an RPGA adventure.
