Found another decent adoptee story line in The Correspondent by Virginia Evans. #adopteevoices #adoption ๐ฅ
Unimportant question of the day. Who decided on bandaid sizes? I can either have one that fits a 3/4 in or smaller wound, or a 2 1/2 in by 3 1/2 inch wound. Why are there no in between sizes? #random #unimportant
You have your history and context wrong, though. You seem to be want to share talking points pressed upon all of us by adoption agencies and adoptive parents. Perhaps you should engage in some modern writings about the reality of adoption.
This adoptee endorses all of this. Thank you for sharing.
Rabbit Moon by Jennifer Haigh, finally a book with an adoptee character that never once made me cringe. There is adoption history, acknowledgment of saviorism, & an adoptee with complex, nuanced, feelings about her transracial adoption (China). The author is either an adoptee or did her research.๐ฅ
The thing that makes this beef less interesting to me is the pure predictability of it. We all knew it would end this way.
Oh how weird it is to be adopted. Despite how often I am asked about my "real parents", it is my birthparents I call(ed) by their first names, and my APs I refer to and call parental titles.
They could at least get the grammar right. I find it gross though.
I can't help but wonder how much of this article could have been published before the election. Did NYT sit on this until Musk became less liked in the White House in order to mitigate Trump's backlash?

For @time.com's Made by History, I wrote an antidote to gushing news stories about babies anonymously relinquished in safe haven drop boxes: time.com/7280998/deva...
It's a freeing yet devastating reality to finally understand that the one part of my life everyone told me didn't matter at all actually shaped every single aspect of my life.
Being adopted profoundly altered my life. It's at the root of everything.
It matters. Stop telling me it doesn't.

I'm never getting to Genius today. I'm at about 175 points and have run out of patience.
I hope that you will do some reading on the realities of adoption, both domestic and international. Your response to this is not new, or surprising, but is based in decades of adoption propaganda that tells you these are the only options. Try #adopteevoices
How about we interrogate adoption systems and look for ethical options? No love lost for this terrible administration, but I'm not crying over fewer adoptions.๐ฅ
Adoption is fundamentally unethical. I have no love for this administration or its policies, but loss of access to state-sanctioned unethical familial and cultural separation does not cause me any heartburn. Let's interrogate adoption systems before holding them up as universally good.
Proud to have done my part as a Canadian living abroad. #elbowsup
I keep my dog on a leash at all times and one day she nearly dislocated my shoulder catching a baby bunny. It was awful. Thank you for using a catio. You have prevented many more birds and bunnies from a similar fate. I'm sorry for those bunnies, but I know we were both being responsible pet owners
The etymology of vagina is no better. Our entire anatomy was named in service of men.
I have had to navigate my feelings around a bio family obituary and an adoptive family obituary in the last couple of years. The worst was that neither asked me how I would like to be acknowledged. I was named in both, the bio as if he raised me, and the AP as though he didn't adopt me.
Do you want to reconsider this response?
My friends continue to think my boundaries around not commenting on my body are but mere suggestions. Stop commenting on people's bodies for Pete's sake, it's weird and rude.
Just confirms my decision to get off TikTok when they bowed down to Trump was correct for me.
Unfortunately not true. Canada has significantly restricted student visas.

Perhaps no SEWP for any of us after today's EO.
Adolescence on Netflix should be required watching for all parents. My kids are young adults now, and I realize how many mistakes I made wrt social media with them. Just pure luck that they are mostly okay. #adolescence #netflix
Strands was ridiculous today.
