I was at a dog-friendly bar in NW Portland tonight and a table behind me started singing Happy Birthday and then I realized it wasn’t for a person but a really old dog who was wearing a crown and he was old and fucking adorable and I love this city

a senior golden retriever sits in the grass in front of a gray stone wall and faces the camera head-on. he has at least four tennis balls in his mouth – two stacked vertically under his nose, and one pressing up his cheek flaps on either side. the balls are faded shades of orange and green, now weathered and well-loved, like the sugary white of the dog’s face.

This is Finley. He is the Guinness Book of World Records champ for most tennis balls held by a dog in their mouth with 6 at once. Earned the title six years ago and has remained undefeated. He may be a senior, but he definitely knows ball. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday (IG: finnyboymolloy)

frustrating that this had to be spelled out to this extent, tbh, but this is good on why you should care that Bluesky isn't growing:

This is absolutely beautiful and very well done.

I thought about posting about someone writing a novel about a novelist’s self radicalisation

Then I remembered this photo

(Yep, that’s a mug commemorating the sectarian killers - sorry, great lads - of the Ulster Freedom Fighters)

Did a thing for Newstalk/Off The Ball on Ratcliffe. Everyone who disagreed posted personal comments, some pretty nasty stuff. Can this be good for the “cause”? Or is impotent rage and abuse an acceptable world view now? Clicked on a FB thing about Elastica, pure misogyny. Social media was a mistake.

Part of an FT article entitled 'Who’s who at X, the deepfake porn site formerly known as Twitter'.

The image is of Twitter's head of safety, but the image has been altered by Grok to make her look like a clown.

The text reads: Kylie McRoberts - Head of Safety.

Appointed in April 2024 as X Corp’s Head of Safety, McRoberts leads the company’s work to maintain a safe and engaging platform.

This was maybe (maybe) his greatest night for Liverpool.

His Champions League hattrick wasn’t bad, like.

“The BBC podcast and the impact it had in prompting the four victims to come forward are mentioned several times in the court documents from Florida.”

Just an incredible line to read. Thanks for all the messages over the past couple of days, everyone.
