Lucrecia Martel introducing the 4k restoration of The Headless woman
Lucrecia Martel introducing the 4k rest. of The Headless Woman with 3 thoughts, a car accident that she had as a 5yo leaving her out of place and time, the tendency for the upper class to do hit and runs in Argentina, & how when you forget a small thing you can forget a very large one (junta)
Amazing, this is so tempingβ but flying across the country that week would be the most expensive show Iβve ever been to.
They are still SO GOOD. Last year was as good of a show as Iβve ever seen by them.
If only we could have believed the signs and portents.
New Boards Of Canada, Massive Attack, Tricky & Seefeel, as well as (thanks to re-presses) Rhythm & Sound, Bandulu, Blazeβ¦..you youngsters wonβt know that every week was like this in 1995
I had the same feeling with Tomorrowβs Harvest. I really kind of ignored it, and it sounds so different to me now. Going to pick it up on vinyl and give it the dystopian home listenings it deserves. 1st half is dark and then bleak hope? Do the crops fail? I think if that field at the end of Threads.
I think the last time I saw it properly was a vhs that a friend had dubbed from a non-cropped laserdisc. I did go to a screening about 10 years ago that was a 16mm print that would barely run through a projector, possibly the most infuriating screening Iβve ever sat through. So, finally!
Kiddo made me listen to Tomorrowβs Harvest on a trip out to the desert this weekend and it might be my favorite full length. Wasnβt expecting that. Previous fav was In a Beautiful place in the Country
Jason Robards in Once Upon A Time in the West
First time seeing Once Upon a Time in the West on the big screen at Vidiots last night.
WOWβ Jason Robards is amazing. What a voice.
Beer glass wormhole?
Canyon in Joshua Tree at Sunset
Hope this wipes away more of the twenty-sixes.
Sunset over Hidden Valley, Joshua Tree.
Not pushing the colors at all, and this didnβt even look half as amazing on the iPhone
This album was one of my first CDs. Absolutely astonishing.
Yeah- for a portable Walkman, itβs probably better to just get a newer model unless you have something that already works. Theyβre not easy to open up. I have a couple clunkers now at the house and a bright yellow Sony sports that seems indestructible.
My impressions as an old goat havenβt changed all that much, I just feel more confident.
Didnβt love it. Everyone else I know did. Iβm cranky, but it just wasnβt hitting for me.
Itβs so good.
Jack Lemmon in Airport 77.
The disaster film was the superhero film of the 70βs and Airport 77 really only has this one scene in an airport. Yes, it does have an amazing cast, and the place is under the water. 70βs must have been some fever dream. Glad we watched this one on an old screechy VHS.
Itβs been quite a few years, but La table du chef is good (same area). Unfortunately a lot of the restaurants reprint their menus with much higher prices for festival week, and sometimes they donβt really try. The stuff right next to the Palais can be the worst. Rue du Suquet is gorgeous & hit/miss
The better low-key restaurants are tucked back by the marchΓ©. Chez Xavier, etc used to be a local refuge from the madness.
Itβs surprising how cleaning the house is a great way to listen to an album start to finish.
Honored to have my first released track on this mix alongside some really great music.
Fitzcarraldo
Can this be a solution?

If you really love cinema, you have to watch his films. Heβs uniquely talented, like someone who will be studied for how he moves the camera, blocks out a scene. heβs made a lot of stinkersβ but Iβm sure you could find a scene in his worst film that is more interesting than some best pics winners.
Solid!
Sadly Iβm going to miss this! After getting a 2nd chance with the reschedule. Tear it up @3amnoise.net !
I promised the kiddo that they used to call each other Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on the VHS. I think he believes me.
A great mix to start a gray morning.
