Her campaign failed. Mostly because she failed to combat the oppositional narratives and properly define, sell, and spread her own.
You can criticize their failure to sell that message. But people are continuing to lie about what that message was, while we're living through proof it was the truth.

Donald Trump is very clearly in support of ethnic cleansing - both in the US and abroad - and has not only encouraged genocidal acts but threatened to commit them himself openly.
He's Netanyahu's biggest ally and enabler, and always has been.
Supporting them is pro-genocide.
The key point that her opponent used to define her was that she was so pro-Trans that she was out of touch with the American people...
If you believed the narrative about supporting genocide over reality during the election, that was your choice.
If you STILL believe it, then you should just buy a MAGA hat and start attending rallies.
The entire point of the OP is acknowledging that she didn't actually move to the right..
Listen if Trump really wanted to destroy Iran he doesn't need nukes, he just needs to become their president and start a bunch of silly trade wars with all their allies

LA gets a power play faceoff in the Colorado end and scores what could be the winning goal because the linesman can’t get out of the way of a clear. I can’t believe I’m siding with the Avalanche but that’s bullshit.
Enten: "Trump's at an all-time low on inflation across polls (-42 pt. net approval). With Independents, Trump was favored by 10 pt. vs. Harris in 2024 on inflation. His net approval now is -60 pt. That's a 70 pt. shift away from Trump.
...
This was literally the message FROM Never Trump.
Including Cheney.
...
I'm holding everyone to the same standard - be smart enough to think for theirself and see that Trump is exactly who he's always been and was very obviously completely unhinged and dangerous.
I don't care what color or flags people put in their headers.
Either try to stop evil or enable it.
I'm surprised @jvl.bsky.social hasn't mentioned this on the pod..
She was already nominated.
And it bears nothing on future nominations.
The point was, once someone is nominated, if there's a lying rapist authoritarian on the other side, you vote against them and figure the rest out later.
I read the article when it came out. It doesn't say what you're implying is says.
She was trying to win over voters, not Liz, who endorsed without even talking to Harris or the campaign, and then agreed to help try to appeal to others.
They got some votes, but not enough. They told the truth.
You can create all the theoretical scenarios you want.
At the end of the day the Cheneys said that Trump needed to be defeated or he would do exactly what he's currently doing.
Create a reality where they're actively the villains, but in the real world he's dead and she was right.
🤷♂️
Denial?
The Cheneys said that we needed to stop Trump or he would betray the Constitution, lie, steal, and be a danger to Americans and the entire world.
And they were right.
You're telling me they didn't say what they said on live television?
If she was the Democratic candidate on the ticket against Trump, yes. They'd have said to vote for her.
They are smart enough to know campaign promises and positions don't magically happen when someone gets elected - especially when that person abides the law.
I don't need a media narrative about what their message really meant or symbolized. I listened to the message for myself and can make up my own mind on whether or not to believe it.
If others cared about facts over narrative we wouldn't be living in Reality TV hell right now.
Oh yes. The phrasing and word choices of the national media headlines is what we should all use to gauge our critical life decisions and fact-based opinions on.
🙄
She didn't "court" her. She accepted the endorsement and they spoke about the importance of defeating Trump. That's the point of the original post - she made no concessions.
Cheney asked to speak to voters to encourage them to do the same. So they did.
It wasn't about either of them personally.
"Extending the ceasefire" excludes firing holes in other ships I take it?
Ossoff: "You were talking earlier about Jared Kushner. The guy leading our diplomacy in the Middle East is bringing in billions from Middle Eastern princes and sheiks and going around the region asking for billions more while he conducts nuclear diplomacy on behalf of the country. It's obscene."
The Cheneys' warned that Trump was so corrupt and dangerous that stopping him was more important than any platform or policy.
Rooting out fascism and corruption is the priority, then politics can debated/reformed.
Maybe that's not "good enough" but it's also not wrong.
The alternative is evil.
Coming soon "We're getting rid of these pussy ass helmets and body armor"
At this point I think they're HOPING that people try to come after them with guillotines...
I understand why they thought we needed this, but we already have Moonwalker (1988).
In a respectable society this goon would be ashamed to show his face in public.
