Been sick for almost 3 weeks, what a plague to catch.
Still, was able to remake a old sequence as a first pass.
Also got to play with Houdini for the crater which was a blast.

Been struggling to add more of these since a lot of the old .FBX files of these turrets and characters got corrupted.

But today, found the .max files and quickly downloaded a trial of 3DS max to open them and they work!

Going to add more, keeps my sanity going with this rough job market πŸ˜…

Reworked up the Flamethrower mod for the Cannon from my first mobile game, MonstroCity.
Modernized it and got it looking a lot more "liquidy fire"

Turret rotates slightly each time it fires to really spread the damage.

Needed a dock in MonstroCity, just reuse 2 wagons & hide the wheels with some well placed boulders to ground it.

Finished up the reworked Zap Turret VFX from my first mobile game, MonstroCity.
Even was able to salvage up the original audio with it.

MonstroCity was my first job as a VFX artist 8 years ago, feels almost wild and therapeutic to remake it

Been lost to a moody brain, then thought, "Hey, why don't you remake some of the first VFX you ever did?!"

So, first pass of me remaking the Zap Turret VFX from MonstroCity.

Going to really work on that hit effect more, but I do love the "wet" nature of the beam
