On a whim, I got myself a jar and a ton of tiny resin ducks. Every time one of my silly AO3 fics gets a kudos, I add a duck to the jar.

Numbers are too abstract. Counting accomplishments in a physical tangible form helps a lot to remind yourself that what you make does in fact matter to people 🦆
