Valletta book for September , four nights at the same Airbnb that we stayed in last time , which was just perfect. A short walk down to the water , to climb the ladder into the sea with the locals (& jellyfish) & a short walk into town.

Now to find somewhere by a beach for 3 days beforehand.

Just spent my coffee break leaving some nesting material in full view for the magpies who are trying to nest in the very top of this huge hazel in the garden behind us.
I can only see upset coming , as they’re trying to build between the top of two poles that wave around in the wind.

Jerk venison bangers were banging.
Cooked some basmati & wild rice with coconut & thyme , charred pineapple , red pepper & kidney beans stirred through (extra thyme)
Coleslaw of fridge ends (onion,pak choi & carrot ,yog & lime juice)
Mango & plantain sweet (very) hot sauce.
Bloody great it was 😁

Went to bed before mine 🙈
Now have to wake up properly enough to cook it .

Sat in a hide , then a perfect spot by the lake. Then coffee & cake ☺️
A lovely early morning walk & loll.

It’s devilishly good , so have to ignore it mostly , but today I caved 😆

Also a fab morning buying from independents in Highworth.

IOW fresh toms, Tom chilli jam & oak smoked toms
A handmade & painted Kashmiri tiffin style lunchbox.
Bread & lardy cake 🙈& some coffee beans.
Jerk venison sausages , chicken thighs , pork belly strips & a couple of small dry aged ribeyes.

What a glorious Saturday.
Things are thinging. I’m trying to help thing them along & tidy up a bit but I’m all out of thing today so it’s slow thinging progress.
So coffee & half a slice of lardy cake , because I can 😁

Very proud of my partner (CEO of the hospice)& all of his colleagues for making this happen today.
It’s an important game for Swindon Town & them wearing this kit is amazing.
The hospice have a Men’s Walk ending at the ground today , & Best Mates Charity are also involved x

I always do the dishes.

Never related to a sign in the Old Operating Theatre so much.
(Highly recommend a visit , the volunteer was fabulous & gave us a huge talk on leeches , maggots , body snatching & the anatomy act. Sounds grim but was fascinating£

It all worked out really well , perfect timing & location when I was halfway through my guidebook walk (really interesting stuff about the history of bits that you sometimes just don’t notice)

I’m having a solo lunch at Hawksmoor Borough & I have no regrets.
Spent a lovely morning following the Joolz guide walk, learning all the things about the stuff you just walk past.
I mean Hawksmoors lunch deal is just fantastic.

All the others are poor.

(Obvs Lakrids are the best liquorice ever but not any available on my journeys up & down the M4)

Work has not improved one bit this week.
I am at my screen pouring sweet chilli sauce directly onto prawn crackers for lunch.
However it’s my birthday on Thursday & I am taking myself off for a solo trip to the capital , to follow a couple of the Joolz guide walks (which are fab - the book is fab)

A lovely evening yesterday.
Food , drinks & friends over.
Spatchcocked ,spiced & blackened a chicken. Orzo with green beans ,olives , capers ,sun-dried tomatoes etc. Couscous with preserved lemon , black garlic , roast veg & all the herbs. Homemade flatbreads . Cherry & choc parfait to finish x
