FU Elmo.
Let’s cut that to 3.
An amazing career and life flushed for one series of bad decisions. Tim Apple (Cook) is forever to be known as a MAGAt enabler.
The story doesn’t make any sense unless we go back and change the past. More excellent work from Hollywood screenwriters.
‘How dare The Atlantic accuse me of drinking on the job. I’m gonna sue you as soon as I find some Tylenol and a couple Bloody Mary’s…’
I hope a list of both sponsoring organizations and attending (former) journalists is published.
You have to smoke cigarettes while cooking to really unlock the benefits.
📢 We've reached *3000* documented authoritarian-like actions of Trump's second term since Jan 2025...
the two most recent are classic suppression of the press & using the justice system to attack political enemies

mRNA technology may be THE most underrated and unfairly scrutinized (fuck you COVID antivax crew) medical breakthrough in my lifetime.
Like... The things this is already showing it can do in the last 5-7 years is incredible.
Learn whatever you want about "law," it doesn't matter because GOP Justices blew up the entire process of deciding cases based on chats with rich friends and stuff they watched on TV. That was the entire basis on which SCOTUS switched to the shadow docket.
Trump is reported close to a "deal" with himself under which US taxpayers would pay him $10 billion.
I served in multiple communist and authoritarian dictatorships, but I never witnessed corruption on this scale or this blatant.
It’s the classic media problem: Democrats are supposed to be moral and consistent, so doing a cynical move to counter Republican bullshit is grounds for a handwringing and somewhat complex story.
Republicans blatantly cheating with a mid-decade seat-stealing campaign is treated like the weather.
The more we find out the worse it gets. Yet we do nothing and let it do it's thing.

the president of the united states is personally looting the treasury to the tune of literally billions of dollars and that he is not being immediately removed from office and tried for high crimes against this country is a devastating indictment of every part of our political system
In a big loss for Mike Johnson, the House rejected his proposed reauthorization of a little-known law that lets the government sidestep the Constitution and spy on US citizens.

Sports owners are using tech to build private surveillance states — while taking public money.
Which means that Knicks owner James Dolan is the future.
In a new collaboration with @wired.com, we go inside how MSG secretly watches fans, surveils kids, tracks players… youtu.be/yNZ3hJPN5Vc?...

"Brands with strong privacy practices saw 12.31% higher purchase intent than brands with weak practices. The effect was even greater (255%) for brands that customers already liked."

The US router ban has only gotten more ridiculous now that Netgear is suddenly, inexplicably exempt.
Here's why:

One job of journalism is to identify changing circumstances that require changes in policy. So when the first-ever convicted-felon president assaults the free press, why would reporters honor him at a dinner just because “that’s what we always do”?
Wake up. Cancel the Correspondents’ Dinner.
Last month the Trump FCC announced a "ban" on all foreign made routers (almost all of them), demanding ambiguous favors from manufacturers if they wanted to continue doing business in the U.S.
Netgear is the first to gain approval. Did they agree to bribes? Backdoors? who knows! 🗽💩
DOGE turbocharged the deficit.

Rebecca Solnit: “The United States is being murdered, and it’s an inside job. Every department, every branch, every bureau and function of the federal government is being fatally corrupted or altogether dismantled or disabled.” [theguardian.com]
This is the culmination of SIXTEEN YEARS of dogged work by everyday Hungarians.
You think that felt hopeless sometimes? I'm sure it did.
👏 Don't 👏 give 👏 up 👏
this should be the opposition rallying cry in every country where fascists have been ascendant
In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.
