I’m kinda trying to prepare my kids for me getting it. Wife and I are looking into buying Long-Term care insurance, and have told the kids that if we start to get bad they should put us in a nursing home. We don’t want them to be burdened by this.
Well, I do work with seniors as an LNA. I’ve kinda been prepared a bit for it. It’s dealing with my own mom, in my home, that’s got me wrecked.
Alzheimer’s is a hell of a thing. I knew my mom’s memory was going, but today she mistook me for her brother. She forgot that I was her 48 y/o son. Damn.
