The Ark Encounter folks suing their insurance carrier over coverage of flood damage will never stop being funny.

@tanaweingartner.bsky.social I've got a local one for you: does anybody know why phone -> car radio connections die at the curve from Westbound Ft Washington Way to Northbound I-75?
Ohio Medicaid got rid of big middlemen, paid pharmacies more and saved $140 million, report says ohiocapitaljournal.com/2025/04/17/o...
good grief the echo chamber in the comments. oof
That also means the DOJ can't hold it over his head going forward at least?
Protocol is clear. Every single official on that Signal chain needs to hand over their mobile devices.
Pete Hegseth, JD Vance, Marco Rubio—all of them.
This is a matter of national security and the rule of law.
If it were anyone else, Republicans would call for this too.
A YES on cloture is a YES for the bill.
Do not let anyone play games with you.
Who needs three co-equal branches of government? JD Vance says he and Donny can ignore court orders. And Congress' power has already been pruned ever since Mike Johnson bent the knee. My latest cartoon on Pepperspectives. davidpepper.substack.com/p/jd-vance-a...
Page 3A of the Cincinnati Post, 9/17/1987. two headlines of note: "Biden: 'I did something stupid," "Campaign launched to draft Donald Trump for president"
Ann Telnaes resigned after the Washington Post editorial page killed her cartoon. It’s worth a share.
Big Tech executives are bending the knee to Donald Trump and it’s no surprise why: Billionaires like Jeff Bezos like paying a lower tax rate than a public school teacher.
we’re in the minority in all three branches, dems don’t have to do a goddamned thing, policy-wise, for at least the next two years. ask donald trump and mike johnson and john thune what their kitchen table policies are, they’re in charge.
📌 gonna come back to check

Huh. I'm blocked by 15 accounts that look to all be spam / scrapers but this one was jarring:

gonna be absolutely hilarious if ann selzer is the only person to figure out what broke in polling and puts out something like trump +2 in iowa the week before the election.

I should have said 'currently' because yes a native ipad app would be far better.
Using the browser interface is far better than the app on iPad, tho it seems to have hit a bug with Safari if I attempt to fullscreen a video currently.
Bold faced extra-judicial state sanctioned police killing, straight into the memory hole.

Wonder if the original invite tracking data is still around so we can figure out who gave them to us..
That's a business jumpsuit. He's wearing a matching jacket to dress it up.
I was staring at that photo trying to figure out if the chairs are small or Vance's pants are hemmed too short and then I got fixated on the dumb long red tie uniform they all have now
America is not perfect. Far from it. But there are ideals worth fighting for, values worth pursuing, even when we fall short. Don’t abandon it to the totalitarians.

“Just as Americans are not living under a Biden dictatorship — in which the watchful eye of Dark Brandon prowls the nation in search of malarkey…”
Ah the TV-B-Gone will never go out of style
Our analysis reveals that both the public and journalists can reliably predict what plays well on social media and that these social media values drive the selection and sharing of news online. On the contrary, normative news values, even though reliably recognized by both the public and journalists, minimally influence social media engagement. Altogether, we observe a tradeoff between normative and social media values such that high-quality news required for a democratic society is not marketable in a social media environment. The visible reward of engagement makes social media values more easily identified and employed in news sharing than normatively desirable attributes. The implications of these findings are further discussed.
