I guess it's iconic for some folks. An indoor stadium, not exactly picturesque. The area around MSG is ...meh. I think the Met Museum is my kind of icon.
Me too. Can think of various machines that travel faster than a runner. My computer can sort files alphabetically faster than a human file clerk organizing paper folders. Whoopee!

It is forbidden to forbid! Did they not get the memo?
so pretentious... who does this guy think he is? If anything, the Vatican might inspire some cradles and seculars to revisit the formalities.
The surveillance has been widely reported, locally. I am glad to have been inside MSG years ago, having no need to return! I'm not saying surveillance was unknown then, but was less personal.... Never again!

Good news! Not sure why The City uses that adjective to describe NYC bldgs w maintenance staff 🙄 Some are lux, some not. When a bldg contains 200+ dwellings, door & maintenance staff isn't a luxury. Many SEIU bldgs contain a mix of market and regulated rents. www.thecity.nyc/2026/04/17/d...
Thank you for the 🎁

I hear you!
My goodness, you're right. Sarah in childhood!
I love yr informed sprawl. I admit to being mostly aware (and very aware!) of the immeejit fam, having been in the daily presence of HM's glowing portrait for an entire year. I have always found that archival footage from the war years stirring, in a quiet way.
www.glamour.com/story/prince...? I disagree w this claim. Charlotte looks like her paternal *grandmum* the late Elizabeth. Her features recall black & white images of E2 as a child speaking to the nation's children during the second world war.
Nobody wants Jay Powell to leave that job. What is going on over there? I bet even K Warsh himself would feel better if Powell could be Fed chair for life...

There's a lot of enemy-of-my-enemy going on these days. It's good enough for as long as it works, the only problem is that enemies are so one dimensional and dull. Not what you really want in a friend.
@knitnannassyd.bsky.social :-) Happy Wednesday
Did that pip squeak really compare his job as VP w that of pontiff? A working definition of goofy.
What is up with these guys. NYC had a mayor (four long years) who explicitly said he was against church-state separation. It was shocking. 2021-2025. Why was he not removed from office the minute he said this? I just don't get it.
That would mean having Jerome Powell in a similar role. Not sure Jay Powell is in the mood for that, but I know a lot of people who like the idea.
v interesting, thanks
For National Poetry Month (PoMo!) we had a group reading at @nysoclib.bsky.social NY Society Library last night. I read some new pieces about eros in public parks...along with a piece I published in @robmclennan.bsky.social's Dusie series. Many thanks to @johntimpane.bsky.social!
