Every move has a counter & several progressions. And that is why martial arts is a physical chess game. It is body & mind. Fitness, skills & brains merged into one.

Not only do your muscles, bone mass, tendons and joints benefit from some, but not too much weekly high impact exercises.

Your health, cardiovascular system, physical and cognitive outcomes also benefit in other ways than what low impact, non-exhaustive fitness modalities will do.

So do it all.

No to low-impact exercises like walking versus high-impact ( like sprints,MMA & jumping )has no clear winner.

Because they both serve their own use cases and they are both beneficial and needed.

We all need enough but not too much high impact, so do them both 💪💪☕️

How can low impact vs high impact be both good and bad?

4 days ago 0 0 1 0

But here is the thing.

Both are needed & should never be pitched against each other, all walk/run slow vs higher effort runs are a false dichotomy, nothing else.

Do it all, because all modalities have benefits ( & different costs, like time needed to finish, + less impact is both good & bad ).

You will often here claims such as this ( & it is true ).

Walking 10,000 steps burns roughly the same calories as running a faster, much more exhausting 5K.

But it will have dramatically less stress on your joints.

Making walking a low impact, highly beneficial health habit you should do daily

Its not ever going to be effortless living a healthy fit life for decades, but it can be made a lot easier by scheduling habits, properly prep & plan food choices & cooking ( we eat what we have at home ) et cetera.

Remove the need to be inspired & just do it. Like going to work 💪💪

Ai as a coach, a good or bad idea?

Here is one more study making it perfectly clear that AI is still a very poor coach.

In this study current AI models was wrong between more than 80% of the time for some of the modalities. And that is of course absolutely not remotely good to be anyone's coach.

Well put Henry 💪💪

100% no. AI currently is a very lacklustre coach plagued with numerous basic mistakes and poor, incorrect information and takes.

Sadly a ton of people paying for AI coaches will never realise it 😄.

Thats why Strength By Fitness apply a "all human, no AI" coaching approach 💪💪

Yes Jeremiah, a life without alcohol is such a boost for health & fitness 💪💪. And you are right, alcohol consumption harms quality of sleep too, to the surprise of many who thinks it helps them sleep & destress. Thank you for the comment man.

Saying no to alcohol boosts a ton of big health, body composition & fitness outcomes 💪💪🏆. But as far as excess body fat goes its a surprise to far too many new clients just how much pointless calories they get in their weekly alcohol intake.

Outside of GLP-1's plenty of other peptides are all on board the fitness hype train. But the actual human-based scientific evidence is basically non-existent for now.

To the point video by Menno & I can only agree, use healthy caution & scepticism when pro drug using BB talk highly of peptides 💪💪.

Amongst those that do enough weekly cardio to blunt their strength training response, reality is that they will still build more muscle and strength as long as they fuel for it.

Both options = a far fitter & healthier person vs only lifting weights, or only doing cardio.

So do both.

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

Should you only strength train or lift weights and do cardio?

While its an equation with nuance. Most people will never do enough weekly cardio to blunt their strength training progress one tiny %.

Sustainable food production ( with room for more improvement ).

In this sea of greenhouses, at 5x the size of Manhattan enough veggies & greens are produced per year to feed half a billion people.

3/3 So, always try to minimise the amount of indulgent but less health friendly food stuff you keep at home ( or use the 1 treat and many healthy, nutrient rich, higher-SPC food choices approach, I described earlier )

No willpower in the world or habit will make us only eat healthy foods if someone else in the household brings home unhealthy food.

If the cakes, pastry and ice cream is in our home. At some point even the healthiest human on the planet will eat it.

3 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

And yes, 😄💪. What you are experiencing is what I call "you eat what you have at home, so don't buy it in the first place". Its a well established phenomenon.

From a conversation with a client this morning. He is doing great at large, with food, exercise and sleep, great progress.

But a member of his household brings home pastries.

Which unavoidably leads to a slightly too frequent pastry consumption for him too. 1/
